    The infos:

    windows xp sp3

    Chrome

    The problem:

Previewing it from construct in Chrome works fine. Black screen when i export and view it.

This might or might not be plugin related. I don't really know what to look for.

    Edit:

    What the flying..

It fixed itself..Possibly due to me trying out if un-minified works (it didn't earlier..). I'll re-upload another minified version.

    Edit:

Ok i found the solution and sadly it was me being stupid.

Clicking the file in dropbox results in a black screen probably because it doesn't rely on external files. Using the public url fixed the issue.

  • Sorry, i wasn't sure if i should bump or make yet another thread. I'll keep that in mind next time. I got here through searching the forum and forgot to check what kind of thread this is.

  • I tried adding that and made sure the dropbox folder was shared but i still get a black screen.

I am using plugins. Is that what's causing it?

  • Yes i liked the effect for the mouse!

I understood what you were trying to achieve though. Perhaps the 3 parts work out better. I don't think you need many instances for a static object though, because it just makes it look jittery if it goes too fast.

  • Seems useful, but would be more complete if you could manage your inventory. I have not looked at the capx though, but i will be checking it out later when i start on my own inventory for sure.

  • I am still not sure how to make the chess piece move now.

I can't find anything that let's me move to the coordinates in the "path" groups one by one.

I can get it to change coordinates and get it to move to the coordinates, but not move along the path.

  • How do i use the InstGroup to move to a cell?

  • A pluginless solution would also be good, but i fear machine code.

  • I think using just 2 sprites if an easier and more realistic way to achieve an animated sun. It would be interesting to see if you can also manage random solar flares/ arcs.

I removed all events and used sine behaviour on all sprites. The background fades as the sun get's brighter.

The effect i described earlier seems kinda fiddely.

  • I think it would improve if you could make it smoother. Maybe slow it down and have the sprites fade out slower.

  • Arrow keys were simple enough, but finding a solution for mouse movement on the forum appears much harder.

I am using the Board and SquareTx plugins to generate an iso grid on which i can move something. I just can't get it to move on the grid.

    Download file

It seems complex. Any pointers or solutions (that i might've missed searching the forums)?

    Much appreciate.

  • Yes that's what i meant. You made it work for simple board games like chess, but if you want a bigger playing field you have alot of tiles that you may not always need. A virtual board grid would be pretty useful. With a virtual board you can have a single background image and still use the grid.

But i understand this is probably hard to do.

    Your plugins are very helpful!

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • Yes, but i don't want 10000 tiles just so i can move to all the cells.

  • I was just looking at that actually! That looks fantastic.

What i mean is that i don't want the board to fill with tiles so that i can keep the object count low. If i want to make a level with this board i will have hundreds of tiles that i would much rather not have.

100*100 tiles is a alot of tiles.

  • Is it possible to use the board without tiles? I want to use it for isometric movement.
