  • There's a few things you can't currently do with Python, notably interface with behaviors and effects. Other than that I'd think most things could be done with Python easily.

  • Packet throttling mechanisms and fair use checking via an admin online interface would hopefully be enough to remove trouble.

  • I agree, a P2P plugin just won't cut it for alot of games.

I see your point about not having to have a public server, but I guarantee that unless someone makes one public then most people who were thinking about making an online game will immediately give up due to lack of a server to have the game on. Pretty much noone can afford to or will host a server purely by themselves.

  • Why not just a blank subevent after all the others which runs those actions?

  • Click add behavior, and select Timer, it sounds like exactly what you want, after this confusion .

  • The parameter is just a path to save it to, not a filename, so whatever you type in it is where it goes.

  • Probably not much, until font resources are implemented.

  • You could use the Timer Behavior.

  • 0.98.8 could in some circumstances make .cap files with families not work. Not often, but families didn't really work well anyway, so there's no reason you wouldn't want to upgrade.

  • Try Construct 3

  • Double click the action, select back twice in the event wizard, reselect the object, then click next.

  • Something to bear in mind from a logical viewpoint is that this isn't the object's property comparison being in the System object, it's just an expression of an object which can be compared by the catch all system comparison condition. Generally this will be how you do comparing.

  • Ugh.. Czar Orange .

  • By the way, I'd really suggest that you upgrade to this - even though it's marked unstable until we get the all clear from more people - if you use families; old cap files could become corrupt using the old build in some ocassions, and the risk of that is now fully alleviated.

  • Wow.. even I'd forgotten that one.. That'll make a lot of things quite a bit simpler. Do you want to do a #8 on conditionals by the way, or should I?

  • We'll have to do some number crunching and testing when a preliminary online plugin is created, before we have realistic projections.
