It should be, though don't lose sight of the fact that the IDE still uses a lot of internal numbers and handles which will be difficult to be in line with.

The ability was never there, and is harder than you might think due to DavoCode TM.
I wouldn't count on there being many if any feature releases after 1.0 is released, except very minor things. Until 2.0 the only big additions or plugins will be the reserve of 3rd party developers.

A pointer points to an area of memory. If the object the pointer is for is the same, the memory address is going to be the same.
