  • To conclude, you can't compare the two.

ActionScript is certainly less powerful than Construct in simple terms, but the objectives the two serve are very different; if you want to make a short animation or simple online game, use Flash or Shockwave. If you want to make a desktop game which requires complex graphics, effects, or anything like that, you'll have to use something else.

  • Minimize and maximum is an easy request; menus will be finished by 1.0.

  • Menus are makeable via the Resource Bar, but currently don't show at runtime.

They'll be fully implemented by 1.0.

  • No, it's definitely not.

It's meant for online games and web applications such as streaming music and video, and very little else. Not a substitute for a desktop game/application creator, but viable if you want to make certain online games.

  • I just checked this out, and the ObjectCount expression seems broken. So that'll be fixed for the next build.

Possibly the easiest way to do this would be to have something in the status bar when a selection is made, eg: "110 objects selected".

Then you could hit CTRL-A if you wanted to check, and see how many there are in total.

  • Definitely reminds me of the old Worms games, too.

    Make a Worms remake!

  • There's a limit of 600x150, but for some reason the mechanism this forum uses to detect image sizes is broken, it's the same for avatars.

    Oh well.

  • That wouldn't make much sense as a condition (I'd think), but you can do it with the Function object, which can call functions after X milliseconds.

Edit: unless of course you mean it'd trigger after the first 1000 MS of the layout, then never again? If this is the case, then it could be added.

  • Images aren't actually disabled, so I'm not sure why it wouldn't work..

  • Me and three other developers have undertaken a remake of Theme Hospital; currently the engine's shaping up very well, and currently we're writing in data loaders for the original so it'll look and feel identical to it (much like openttd).

The website for the project is at:

  • Here's a good one:

Taking an object out of processing is probably not possible; the easiest way is to put all your events for an object in a group, and have a function like 'StopObject' which both disables the group but also disables any behaviors on the object.

  • You can use containers for this, so that when one object is picked via conditions, another one (or more) is too.

    Here's an article on it:

  • This could be done, if an option was added not to save/load to/from registry at startup and close.

Also, exporting would need to export to the USB drive.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • That crash on close was a very silly mistake and is fixed..

With regard to the network plugin, soon! Really, soon!
