  • About the groups of variables question: a little known syntax feature is 'arrays'. You can try these out for example by using the 'Add lines' in List Box, and typing {"1", "2"}.

Unfortunately it doesn't seem you can yet have array variables. If this is added, you can do what you described.

  • That's actually really really impressive for what it is - which isn't any disrespect for you David! Runs really smoothly and doesn't actually look too shabby.

  • OK, for a complicated plugin it'd be preferable to get Visual Studio 2005 or 2008. The debugger's much better than old IDE's you could use.

There's not really indepth tutorials for using it, as it's relatively straightforward - though obviously daunting for a beginner. The essentials are learning to navigate what you need; the resource bar, source files, and the debugger. If you need help on a specific element we can help here.

Good luck! Sorry that isn't more help .

  • Sounds reasonable, I'll try have something in the next build to do some basics.

  • On a similar note to the topic, just completed moving and setting up stuff in my new house properly.

    Back to developing!

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • This should be fixed in the next build.

    Thanks.

  • On a future note (a very future one) hopefully one day Construct will incoorperate the event/behavior system into a very easy to use 3D game engine.

    One day..

  • Yes, screensavers were chucked in at the last second.

They do actually work, but you won't find them too useful yet, as they have an unfriendly name, and no configuration ability.

    They'll be done soon.

  • This isn't particularly clear though, perhaps there should be warnings when invalid names are used based on expressions.

  • That looks cool .

We're all still around, I've been very busy recently moving into a new house etc, but now it's all hands on deck for 1.0.

    Thanks for the encouragements.

  • Damn, OK, maybe I don't have to buy it.

  • With their 'stealth mode' program, I wouldn't be surprised .

    Hehe.

Note: if you are reading this several months later and feel inclined to take it as anything more than completely tongue in cheek humor, then please don't. We're a very open community who embrace other development programs (we're open source), so the more the merrier..

Infact, I can't see how this could possibly cause any confusion.. snippets are a term ubiquitous to so many software projects, it'd be absurd to imply seriously that an open-source piece of software could somehow have something stolen from it at all, let alone something which is used in such a widespread fashion. Well.. back to work.

  • I like them, but I think they're too big for common use smilies.

If you can resample/find smaller ones, I'd be happy to add them .

  • These are Python snippets, in the Python editor .

Python doesn't work fully at the moment, but soon enough these will become useful.

  • You reminded me, going to get Spore .
