• I thought I'd post some of the stuff I have been working on:

This is a redesign of a game a made 2 years ago called Jet Hero. It's just a generic browser game I'm making for kongregate and newgrounds. Artwork is still un-finished, I got fairly lazy.

Here's the game-play video: "Footage might be a bit laggy since I had unity in the background"

It runs surprising well on mobile phones with no music playing but then again I tested it on mobile phones 2 months back so I don't know how far cocoonjs has gotten.

Here's a video of the drawing mechanic in the game: "Footage might be a bit laggy since I had unity in the background"

I recently started learning how to make games on Unity, thought I'd post that too: It runs amazing well on mobile phones, but with Unity optimizations a real pain... Scirra really does make our lives easier for optimizing 2d games. Nonetheless I enjoy using both engines.

Dam I can't believe I missed this post, thanks for sharing. The new interface looks alot nicer, hopefully a release date for the new arcade is announced sometime this month.

  • Whenever I read US I read it as the word "us" instead of "U.S". Thought I'd point that out....

Thanks for posting sqiddster, now I can get all my unity and art questions answered.

  • Congratulations on funding!

There is nothing more enjoyable then battling enemies with friends using heroic barbarians in loin cloths.

HEY, this is actually pretty awesome and its really well made. It's very professional and the vector art flows well with the gameplay. Also, since it already looks like its ready to be placed in the market, why not add a in-game shop for the users so they can customize the samurai? It would force them to continue and have some kind of a goal in mind.

  • I sure hope so, that would be a nice surprise.

Can't wait to see it mate.

  • I was wondering if any third party plugins work in the scirra arcade? I'm currently using Rojo's paster plugin for one of my projects and I would like to place it on the arcade, but I'v read that third party plugins are generally unsupported. Has this changed?

Or rather are there even any third party plugins that are actually supported on the scirra arcade?

  • I think selling capx files for some sort of revenue is fair, as it takes time and dedication to get it started. Also it would be the same as selling scripts on the Unity Asset store. It's kind of a shame that Scirra doesn't have one as I'd imagine artists and developers would like to sell some of there templates (capx files) or game artwork, and there could be a ton of others that would like to buy them.

I guess it would be expensive to get a service like that started. But to answer your question I'd prefer paypal since it's commonly used in other sites such as ebay and amazon so I find it practical. And as for the price 30-50$ sounds reasonable but it could be much much more depending on the quality of the file. As in, is it optimized to run on multiple machines? Stuff such as that.

My bad, a capx file probably would have made things easier for you.

    Here's the unchanged resolution:

Here's a scaled down version with a scale rate of 0.5:

    dropbox.com/s/97t96hjplyj45y4/newDecimal.capx

It's as you mentioned with the decimal seperators. When the sizes of an object are within 2 or above decimal places the images don't quite scale down properly after conversion. I know people don't normally use sizes that are within the 2+ decimal places but it maybe good to consider it. It's a useful tool after all, so keep up the good work.

I think with construct 2 it should be simple enough to expand your projects to newer devices but how would we go about testing our apps on the blackberry 10? Is there an emulator that could give us some understanding on the performance and how well it will run? Or is there someone we can contact to have it tested before submitting?

  • vervo

Did you use the "on touched object" event or the "is touching object" event? There's a large difference between the two.

  • It's a great idea, but it still needs a bit more work. It seems when re-scaling it doesn't seem to be-able to re-scale float values with 3 or more decimal places. An object with values at 5.517 that are re-scaled with a scale factory of 0.5 becomes 2758620672 instead of 2.758. Other then that, its great.

It just seems to be a conversion issue that needs fixing. Maybe Ashley or Tom could consider making something official like this? It seems very useful.

  • This is one hell of a beautiful tool, if it works.. Anyone tested it yet? I'll give it shot once I'm back from work.
