  • One thing that bothers me about Construct 2/3 is that you can only add comments to conditions. You should be able to comment actions as well. It's not a big feature, but I think it would be quite helpful.

  • I had a similar problem. This proved useful:

For the record, I would strongly recommend you don't install AMD or nVidia's 'control panel' software (Catalyst Control Center for AMD, can't remember what the nVidia equivalent is), or if you do, leave them at their default settings. We had trouble with them in Construct Classic as well - they just seem to be a nice way to break applications. They're intended for games, but they can break anything using hardware acceleration, which both Construct Classic, Construct 2, and all modern browsers also use.

Usually if you do a custom install you have an option to install just the driver, and nothing else. You only need the driver, so try do that if you can.

  • There's a reason why Construct 2 doesn't come with a video importer. A quote from r171 release notes:

[quote:8s8xlgzt]Due to the complexities of the patent-encumbered H.264 and the wide array of video formats in common use, Construct 2 does not provide a video importer like it provides for audio.

  • In case you didn't know, the APK size limit has been increased to 100 MB several days ago. Hopefully, it will make our lives a little easier.

  • > It's 2015 now and I still want to have Flash exporter, because it's much easier to sell flash games than HTML5 games.

    >

Since Flash has many issues all the major browsers will try to block it sooner or later. I don't see any future in Flash.

That's true. To name some problems with Flash:

    • There are concerns about its security. Critical vulnerabilities Adobe has to patch pop up every now and then. There's a reason why Firefox blocks Flash by default now (correct me if it no longer does).
    • It doesn't get along with mobile devices. While it's possible to get Flash to work on Android, it's no longer officially supported (and it's not adapted for touch input anyway). iOS devices don't support Flash at all and it's very unlikely to ever change.
    • Many websites are already adapting HTML5. YouTube pretty much replaced their Flash player with an HTML5 one. Popular browser game websites (such as Newgrounds) are accepting HTML5 games. Plus, HTML5 actually works on mobile devices, unlike Flash.

I no longer have Flash installed on my computer. I also deactivated the Chrome's Flash plugin. And I'm doing perfectly fine.

  • Desktop (Chrome, Windows 8.1, Intel Pentium Dual Core E5200 2.5 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce GTS 450 1 GB, 4 GB RAM):

~40-60 FPS regardless if the front-to-back renderer is enabled or not

Mobile (Samsung Galaxy Note 3 (SM-N9005), Chrome, Android 5.0):

~30-50 FPS with the front-to-back renderer disabled

~25-30 FPS with the front-to-back renderer enabled

The game I tested on is a 2D metroidvania platformer.

  • I'm working on this right now:

  • Can you create an "Set speed" action please?

This and actions to change acceleration and the path angle, along with expressions to read these parameters. It's a very useful behavior (in fact, I've always wanted an "orbit" behavior like this), but without these things it's a little incomplete. Please?

  • I like it! A little silly but it functions very well and the controls are very easy. Reminds me of the beginning of Spore.

I'm glad you like it. This game is inspired by a very similar game called Tidepool, which is inspired by Spore - hence the similarities. I sometimes make my games a little weird because I like that.

  • So, uhh... I just released my game "Grow for Victory" on Android using the magic of Crosswalk! Here it is.

  • Currently, games uploaded to the Arcade can be up to 10 MB in size.

  • I just found something minor but worth mentioning. Tooltips for Construct 2 license badges in forum posts display a wrong username. They always display Arima for Early Adopter badges and thejbos for regular ones.

  • This looks like a bug in the latest version of Chrome. I tried my project in Firefox and Internet Explorer and the framerate was fine. In Chrome, the framerate was decreased - even after I reverted to r157.
