  • Nope because CC has displacement (modifying the vertices of a quad / sprite), whereas C2 doesn't :/

  • I believe he means 2D sprites having different varieties of clothes but that is cool though!

  • Yeah, in my mind it seems a simple enough task, but I know when I start that new capx ready to get at it, I'll probably crumble ;)

    This may interest you

  • You're already here ;)

As for your question.. well, you answered it yourself really. Imagepoints. Yep, someone would draw all those clothes, but it's probably about the same amount of work as drawing 50 different characters, with the bonus of having thousands of different looks.

  • hahah yeah figured it was a bug after it showed the correct username after my reply to the thread. I just thought I was seeing things at the time. Proper tripped me out. Imagine if a stoner seen it. Their mind would be blown!

  • hahah soz!

Well, something like Outrun / Space Harrier would be possible in C2. I might have a bash over the weekend since I've practically got a fake 3D floor going, but it's a hack job. I have a better idea how to go about something like a Space Harrier floor now that I've done that.

  • Yeah I was being sarcastic with the screenshots, meaning if done with the canvas object, it'd be so slow it'd be like a slideshow ;p

Well, the way I seen it done in Construct Classic was to take a sprite object and warp its vertices so it conforms to the perspective, so it looks like mode 7 ground. Pretty neat actually.

  • You can do it with Construct Classic and there's actually a few nice demos with source in those forums. Pity we don't have displacement for sprites in C2 :/

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • Couldn't have said it better myself, dude. I get so <img src="smileys/smiley12.gif" border="0" align="middle" /> after testing a long project for the upteenth time that I lose focus and interest.

Maybe we should organize a hyper-jam?

Sounds good to me :) Create a thread with your ideas, and I'll add to it, and hopefully others will join in.

  • nm I replied to the post and it's now showing BadCerebral created the topic. Man, now I almost know what it feels like to be on LSD ;p

  • Title is misleading. From what I saw of Bit Dungeon on YT, it's not a point and click adventure, not that that matters. Are the enemies random on each screen? An array would be used for each "screen", connecting the doors etc. The enemies, if random, would probably be spawned based on your current level. It could be procedurally generated to an extent.

Ugh I'm still tripping out over my WTF post. hmmm I wonder what they put in my pizza 'cause it's only been since I had that!

  • Ok so I click the topic circled in red in the 1st image, and am taken to the post in the 2nd image. Notice the usernames... WTF? I've only had 2 pints of cider... have I spiked my own drink or what? Is 2 pints my limit now? Am I going senile? Is it a glitch in the matrix? Someone please tell me they see this too on the forums... I can't be THAT drunk yet... ;p

  • It sounds like you didn't enable "bounce off solids" in the object properties. Click the object that has the bullet behaviour applied to it, you'll notice the property "bounce of solids". It's set to "NO" by default. Change to YES ;)

  • Ah nice. Looking good :)

  • I get bored easily on my own long projects. I'm more of a prototype maker than a game maker ;p This could be the thing that helps me break that bad habit..
