  • Despite using other tools and engines, i still love C2 for ease of use, however im really impressed for how HTML5 fast with C2 compared to other similar tools, focusing to provide a best HTML5 game engine is wise for the mean while.

as I already read somewhere, Ashley wont drop out the idea to export to other OS, in fact i believe he will do this when HTML5 features for C2 reach its own limit, just we need to wait and also to support the C2 :)

giving away EXE wrapper , phonegap & AppMobi etc.. i consider them as a salads before the big meal that worth to wait.

even Ashley or Scirra Team will take too long or unable to make new exporters, when they Release EDK, may be someone else are genius enough to release other exporters for C2.

  • Congrats for your android release, judging from the video i see the gameplay seem smooth and the graphics highly polished <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

when i get the time i will try get it for my galaxy .

  • Awesome!! i tried the example it was slow little and also the image not alpha transparent well, when i close the game it show a problem with C2wrap.exe or something :).

  • Game Maker is good except the tearing bug, Construct Classic have smooth gameplay and no tearing screen however it was unstable for me to use, both engines have their own pros and cons, for smart usage u may can collaborate using them both, for example u can take tilesets and level design from GameMaker html5 to C2 proj ;).

  • Agreed it would be great, but at this moment as scirra is small team yet it may be a big pressure for them to stick fixing just bugs around, and may also make them inactive for website needs or adding new features :).

  • Nice engine, very similar to original

it's run smooth for me with firefox, great job :)

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Happy Birthday to C2 :D

wow seem years moving too fast.

    good luck to Scirra Team.

    I'm number 21 :D

  • I think this is too early for Scirra and Construct 2 :D

I rather like the team start taking step by step and updating the engine, also many amazing games will release, which will popularize the Engine more and more, so it's better to wait some time ;).

  • I can simply use GameMaker HTML5 to replace the tileset editor :D

i made level with GameMaker HTML5 room editor based on tilesets, than I made an empty object in game maker before import them to C2 (because C2 can't import GMX project without any objects, hope Ashley will remove this check, it's unnecessary) than It's works !! this only require GameMaker HTML5. <img src="smileys/smiley36.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • I had this problem before when I put my game on a new folder beside public, it's only work well in the Public folder.

  • I'm using both yoyogames GameMaker and scirra construct 2

the both engines have their pros and cons, I highly recommended if not costly to you, to get them both, you wont regard the decisions, in fact some games can make better using C2, while other will be easier and

faster to create them with GameMaker, nothing against you to use them

both for different games and purposes ;)

C2 so awesome that can make u benefit the tilesets from gamemaker, when you can import gamemaker rooms to C2.

  • Hello my friend.

To be honest, most of my games are made with GameMaker, GameMaker is

awesome game creation tool, and of course Construct 2 is the best too

so far in the HTML5 field, both engines have their pros and cons in

    different angels.

For the Pros of GameMaker 8:

    1- Got GML (scripting)

    2- Room Editor

    3- Support Tilesets

    4- Support Sprite Sheet (PNG)

5- You can Extend it (DLL/GEX)

    but for GameMaker Cons:

1- Despite the support of Drag-Drop you still need to learn GML, which

may not friendly for non-programer users for good functions.

    2- Screen Tearing Issue.

3- Can't resize or rotate sprites and object images inside the room

    editor

4- for HTML5 version, don't support WebGL (Yet)

For Construct 2, the Pros Goes:

1- flexible without programing for most part of features.

2- the game programing via events style, which is very organized and

    fun to create.

3- Can rotate and resize object sprites inside the Editor, like send

    object to front or back.

4- Support Behaviors, like platform which can easily applied.

5- Fast Fixes and Frequent Updates (Thanks to Scirra) for bug fixes and

    new features.

6- Support WebGL for HTML5 (fast performance)

But for the Construct 2 Cons, we have:

1- Can't Support Scripting within IDE, (although indirect you can

    use the C2 SDK).

    2- No Tilesets supported (Yet).

    3- Can't copy Layout (Yet)

That's all so far, but one thing made C2 so unique is, you can import

GM HTML5 sprites and tilset to the layout !!

it's like, C2 is your second wife that don't mind to befriend with your

first or ex-wife(GameMaker) XD (just a crazy example)

the Both engines in my opinions are great, and if you can get them both

i see no problem with it, but if you deciding which one suitable, just

    give them both a try and good luck <img src="smileys/smiley2.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

    Regards~
