  • JeZLee Sorry to steal thread... RamPackWobble not many I guessin....

1K to 16K powerhouse is sure proper....

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • RamPackWobble ...."Rampackwobble"....classic name...like it..wish I'd thought of that one :)

  • Create a text object,

every tick >text object set position to x y

                set text to fps

  • If your creating a set "map" then there are still better ways of doing this, one instance repeated would be better than what could end up being 100's of clone tiles...

look into arrays to store the values (ie which tile types are placed where).

another way would be one tile sprite with different "tile types" being added as animation frames...

  • Maybe this would be better placed on a microsoft forum?....never had a blue screen of death with construct 2,construct classic....or any other software for that matter..for ages.

It's your PC telling you it's poorly!!

  • I think it's apparent that creating a native exporter for C2,is not just running a few lines of code off over the weekend, and even if it was then you have the extra burden of support and updates for said exporter.

This would take development away from the core program, and there would be a list of topics venting anger at that...

If you respect what Ashley/Scirra have done with C2,maybe respect their word and put some faith in the decisions they have made...

I think concentrating on the IDE is definately the best way for Scirra to go...with hardware manufacturers climbing over themselves to get the fastest, shiniest products to the market,it's just a matter of time to see the performance of HTML 5 increase accross all platforms.

It's a bit like running for a bus, that is coming towards you...

  • ,I forgot to add the change global bit...edited...thanks..

  • but he wants a "warp door"...does he not?...the global is doing the picking...or is it too early in morning?...lol

  • Actually there is a way...And it's always a good idea to be as efficient as possible...just set each door an instance variable say "door number",to identify it...then create a global variable "choose door" that identifies it

on collision with door >set global choose door to (door number you want to go to)

variable door number=choose door >set position to "doorspritename"

    hope that helps

  • Unsure exactly what your needs are,but a couple of thoughts come to mind...

You could disable collision detection when the teleport is active re activating it when it is clear of obstruction..

Or have an invisable sprite generated 50 pixels away...that detects a "clear space" and only allows it when clear...

  • If you really need a sprite, for what you are doing, size it to you screen size, then go into the image editor, and set the origin to the top left...

But a tiled background maybe better for you and it defaults to top left origin.

  • Is javascript enabled?...or is java script upto date?...possible anti virus software or firewall issue?...

  • Sad to hear this Tulamide,I have learnt much from your informative posts and caps....And I wish you well ,I think Scirra leaving Construct classic in a dusty corner somewhere, could be a big mistake,as I ,and sure many others discovered C2 via classic,I think classic being free ,instantly gives a loyalty factor and now I have a personal licence for C2....enough said methinks...

  • This topic seems to be rolling out the Construct Classic big guns in it's defence!....about time this forum had some fire...

Being relatively new to both programs ,(only a few months under my belt)...<shakes rattle>, I can certainly understand both sides, and in my opinion Construct Classic , as a game creation tool is unmatched...period. And deals Construct 2 a mighty punch in the web socket ,with C2 feeling watery and dumbed down by comparison.

However if you actually want your mega creation to leave the confines of your hard drive ,Construct 2 counters with a HTML5 flurry (after checking it's hair and donning a puffy shirt of course).

And I think that sums it up ,the market is no longer reliant on brute force to shift ten thousand pixels into an alien mothership....five sprites and a bit of photoshop can sell!

So as a forward looking commercial product Construct 2 takes the flag, while construct classic bites it's knuckles behind an MMX badged desktop....

Just to add I really think Classics reliability issues are overplayed...come runtime ,it's rock solid.

But saying that editing in C2 is a joy and I don't miss the feeling of impending crash that Classic can give sometimes.
