  • It was added to the Beta version 134 June 12th.

The next stable release is coming up shortly. (depending on bug fixes.)

  • The "Pathfinding path cost" template may help with that. (another advanced technique.) I however haven't worked with the pathfinder yet, to be specific.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • If Kingdom Rush is the trailer I just saw, it looks like the example you want is the new RTS template that was just added in the Beta.

If you have the latest beta, select "New" in the menu, and in the search box enter "RTS"

edit: It's a bit advanced, but shows how to use pathfinding to move your units in formation while they shoot.

  • Is your game perhaps scaling up to fit the screen?

    Is it just certain sprites?

Sometimes when you load a different size sprite in the Animation editor, it will auto change the size properties assuming you wanted the set size to scale as well. (this doesn't sound like your problem though.)

Can you make a sample capx that does it as well, and share it here? It makes it easier to figure out.

  • There is a new competitor to Dropbox that so far seems to work the same way. Except the start at 15 gigs of space, and if you use my link, we both get 5 more gigs.

    https://copy.com?r=Jqj7S3

This sounds great to me, my 4.5 gigs on Dropbox is always full because I have all my Construct2 projects in there.

No, it's not totally spam, we all use Dropbox around here, this applies.

Edit: Update: As of Oct 2016, Copy went out of business and Cubby is too. I believe I was up to 125 gigs of free space before it shut down. Sigh.

  • New glitch that actually has a benefit in this situation, when it happens and Construct2 won't close, on the empty project screen press ALT-f4 and it will crash, closing the stuck program.

edit: No, it's not the same Alt f4 that was fixed, this only works after Construct is in the "stuck" state. r138

  • Congrats!

  • If you are using the stable version you may not have the logo there yet, it was recently added so not only was it easier to manage, but Construct's great PNG compression could work on it as well. You can click on it in the project window, where Kyatric pointed out, and edit/load them in the Animation editor.

  • Why do people like Steam? They give away developers stuff, what more could you ask? hehe

I use Steam because it is very nice to go to a friends house and be able to download/play your stuff on their machine. It makes it great to LAN party.

  • "Replace Object" normally only swaps the same type, but could an exception be made for swapping text objects to SpriteFont Objects?

Converting to spritefonts, a whole bunch of text objects which are clickable, (have a bunch of events each,) is big pain.

  • I tried to log out for a day, but still popped in as guest to check messages, and looked at my profile and it said I was currently online.

It's not just the Fanatic badge, it's also the other 2 lesser badges it would be ashamed to miss out on. (day 118)

It's part of the fun of your site.

  • Urled posted a link to a Youtube video. If he were really that paranoid, he wouldn't have done that. He's just Trolling for response.

  • Tom is still working on it. He is making changes page by page. But that includes rewriting all the scripts behind each page.

For example, he lets us peek at some of the new profile stuff here:

  • Someone else had Pathfinder issues last month, here is the thread with a link to a tutorial that showed re-encoding with V.S.

I used that tutorial to re-encode Clay's plugins, and it worked.

    http://www.scirra.com/forum/music-in-windows-8-export_topic68083_post429100.html?KW=tutorial#429100

Edit: Later in that thread, someone mentioned it had been fixed, so maybe it is fixed already in the beta.

  • Ashley -Interesting development, that might be a clue..

If the projects seems to close, and Construct2 doesn't, hitting Alt-F4 in r137 causes an immediate crash.

While it is an easy way to get rid of the still open Construct, could it indicate what might not be closing correctly?

edit:(or give you an option to crash instead of sitting locked up?)
