  • Are you able to recreate this in a new Capx?

I've had arrays that get updates on included pages, but I don't know how similar the situations are.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • This one had a contest last spring. they take HTML5 games, but at that time you had to request they turn the ability on for your account. it may be on to start now.

There is also http://clay.io/ They have a plugin for Construct2 which has high scores, achievements, advertising, in game payments, and much more.

  • Really it depends on what you're doing, in many cases I prefer the current results so I can pick which thing I was actually searching for.

But yes if you are editing code around all instances of a thing, highlighting works better as you don't have to start the search over to find each thing.

Obviously bookmarking the results is the proper thing to do. but it can conflict with other bookmarks.

Highlighting would have to allow jumping place to place, so you don't miss any.

Maybe to make coding it simpler for Ashley, and cover the bases, have a button to add "Search bookmarks" to the results. so after you clear the search filter you would have all the results in you bookmark window with orange flags instead of red.

  • So CC output consistently between all the platforms and that is what you miss?

  • R144 appears to be failing on all exports. Cocoon people noticed first, so thought it was that exporter, but it's apparently all of them.

  • Are you able to get plain HTML5 export to work? I can't get anything yet, just black screen. Still testing...

    edit: r144

  • Happy Birthday!

Hope you inserted a "Break" for yourself!

  • Ok, If I was in your situation, I would probably pause the layout and record how long they were away. When I loaded it back up, I would sit the player on a load screen for a few seconds while I simulated that much time passed by. Hopefully there are shortcuts you could take, like finding one path (trip) for woodcutting, but retrieving a dozen trips worth.

  • There is "Persist" behavior, but what you want sounds like it may still require tracking in the events, because Persist can return to a layer in progress, but it would be paused while you were away.

  • Another option if you already have a lot done:

You could hide the layers of the background, and make the layers of inside space appear. You could put all interaction with each environment in a group, and disable the group when that layer is hidden, so you can't click on the exterior door, or woodland creatures, for example.

  • I would use an Array to store all the data, then output it as a JSON string. You could have them cut and paste it to an email to send to you, or you could have the game upload it to a server to save.

The manual Array Download expression is actually defined as:

"Invokes a browser download of a file containing the Array's contents in JSON format. This is intended for offline development, e.g. creating level editors."

    Than Manual:

    See Download, Load, & AsJSON.

  • (Actually Photoshop was started in 1988, Gimp started in 1996.)

  • It does on mine.

Try putting them in place, close Construct all the way and see if they load into those positions after restarting it.

  • Go into preferences, (bottom border of the file menu,) under the General Tab and hit "Reset Dialogs"

    Does that fix it?

  • If you can replicate what happens, post that to bugs for Ashley to see.
