  • When you come up with a concept, it should be based on a game mechanic. The GUI is designed around that. I will get my game engine working before I even think about the interface. Unless it's something like Orbital Bomb-Bounder, which was a rotation based game, where everything rotates around the center of the screen.

Usually when I make a game the sprites are quick filler sprites that get replaced once or twice before the game is done.

  • Have you seen the template for that kind of puzzle?

Hit New, type physics in the searchbox, and the first one, Physics Puzzle.

You can turn on "Prevent Rotation" for each object but that's not much fun, if things tip too much, it should fall over.

Turn up "Angular Damping" to 1, it will keep rotations from going nuts.

  • Before you play with "Scroll To" try switching on "Unbounded Scrolling" in the layout properties.

It releases that top left corner, so it can center on the screen size selected.

  • Happy New Year!

    What's your New Year's resolution?

I think I will try to finish an Construct2 game every month.

(I only managed an average of 1 every 2 months last year.)

  • Use the Tizen SDK and see if it plays on the emulator in it. (It's a lot like the preview in Construct2, but should show you any problems with your app.

I ran all mine through it before submitting, to catch little glitches, reset the icon and such. You load and edit the Config.xml file and the Index.html files for little fixes usually.

Here is Ashley's explanation on where to get the SDK and how to install it.

edit: (The icon must be round, and this editor can convert it for you.)

  • Do you have a sample capx of what is happening?

If they are all instances of the same sprite, at the top level of an event they are all already picked. Further picking is actually filtering out the ones you don't want to act on. "Pick All" is the command to reset it after you had filtered some out.

So if they are the same instance, telling that sprite to drop (y+10 or something) they should all drop, and then if they are a bullet heading X direction, set the bullet speed to -invader.Bullet.Speed

-If your sprite was named "invader" abd they will reverse direction. (just put a minus in front)

  • Nope, no more cash, the funding is ending. The Tizen people even called it a "contest" through Appbackr on their forums. (probably to make it easier to explain.) So the contest is over.

Maybe someday it will return? (@Appbackr?)

  • Try Construct 3

  • I would probably disable collisions for one, and extend the collision path for the other to cover the area of the first.

  • You should see them if you click on the Instance in the list. Booleans show 0 for false and 1 for true.

If you click the little eye icon, it will put them on the watch list tab, under the instance's UID.

  • I put it in my dropbox for someone else who was having trouble:

edi: It says in the dropbox folder it is 122,169 KB

  • Merry Christmas!

This is my first Christmas in 20 years without a mustache, so any lady coders with mistletoe...

  • Ditto wow, the old artillery games didn't erase that fast.

Firing rapidly I got my processor usage to spike at 23%, (averaged 9%) but could never get the framerate to drop from 60.

  • There you go Astro, you should get an email in 3 months. ;-)

    (I'm sure he meant minutes)

  • Yeah, I figured everyone who would most be interest probably already is, but maybe there is another like me, who overlooked it.
