  • Asked, and answered it is then.

It's no one's responsibility to foresee every scenario in your adventures into game dev, but your own.

They have provided information as to what it can do, as well as a forum to learn everything, for free.

No company, is going to make a selling point of what a product isn't designed for.

If this was the only issue you ever ran into making games, then you would be the luckiest person alive.

You're not, there will be true horror stories, and given this attitude you are likely to burn out way before the starting credits even roll.

  • Are you creating correct events for multiple touch inputs?

Not sure why they didn't vote.....

Anyway, serious question, if we had the option.

Off the top of my head I said slomo, but what if it's in a game you play all the time?

If it's for some expensive effect I would just as soon loose a few frames.

  • Windows 10 is a viable alternative for desktop.

Yes its is Edge, yes its just Windows 10, but universal apps can be sideloaded.

I'm sorry you are having such a time with this, but for many of us the ability to export to desktop didn't even exist when we opted in.

One thing you should think about is your target audience, in the big picture desktop is a small percentage, and delivery systems are changing, even for consoles.

Btw you don't have to purchase a license to use Nwjs.

  • I keep wondering when someone will create a Steam like portal for Nwjs.

    Done professionally that is.

  • Anyone tried any of the other html5 wrappers?

What are the sizes of those?

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • It's been a little better than I thought it would, I wish it was a little better, but you have to take everything into account, niche, saturation, sales, etc.

It would be nice to know what to develop, but that may be half the battle.

Thus far I've just done stuff I think is a bit more complicated, and or could be used to make other stuff.

Creating a full game might be a higher value, but then you go into saturation a lot quicker.

Plugs on the other hand would have to be of exceptional quality as they have been pretty much free so far. Then you have to take C3 into account, and the chance that it will change things.

  • This isn't nearly as bad as compared to the weight of Crosswalk, and the actual limits for those platforms.

If your prospects are giddy at anything over 100mb, then they probably aren't interested in being customers.

Honestly the size on desktop isn't a con it's a pro.

You have no limitations on desktop.

    Hurdles, perhaps.

  • It's not their job to list all the pratfalls of game making.

It is to make it easy to create games, while trying to make it deliverable to as many platforms as possible.

BTW, zipped it's going to about half the size.

Unless you plan on letting users download it one file at a time.

  • Yep.

An installer might reduce that.... slightly.

  • Nwjs is basically a portable Chrome.

  • You crazy kids and your newfangled gifs.

  • file/preferences/reset dialogs

  • It does work, for the first frame only.

It's been declined already for the stated reasons.

Plus there would be a fair amount of headaches with users making bug reports when just using it improperly.

Skipped frames in the 350 mb file, etc.

  • It's a little bit of everything.

Remember ram is constantly swapping out parts, and some may just be lost in the hibernate process.
