  • Im working on this project...

    I changed a few things with my menu so lots of things are not cleaned up yet <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy">

    But somehow my GameMenu while playing the game is not showing my buttons correctly.

    Im starting at Layout start and load all sounds. then jump to Layout UI to pickup my global UI.

    Main Menu (with extra created Menu cause of the touch button).

    When i play the game and press "ESC" for Menu the menu shows up and is working correctly but the "buttons" are not visible....

    Please help me.

    Obviously my buttons have a lower Z-Order than the Menu Background, but WHY? in UI-Layout everything looks ok.

  • of course it needs more levels....

    also i have some more things in mind to add to the game....

    to make it more obvious when the player gets hit u mean like make him flash? or are there more ways to do that?

    Well i stopped my last project "the game with no name" cause with all the new things i learned so far i have to rework it completely...

    Nevertheless i have (currently) a new project.

    A Platformer called "Jumping Simon".

    STORY:

    You are Simon a little Alien and found yourself on a planet that is not your Homeplanet. So by finding keys, unlocking locks and avoiding enemies you have to find your way back home.

    I started this game cause i found a huge amount of C0-licensed Art on http://www.kenney.nl and i am very bad in graphics so i can't make my own

    I made a little demo preview on that game so that you know what this game is about.

    You have to collect a key. Then find the corresponding lock. Then go to the exit.

    CONSTROLS:

    Movement (Arrow Keys)

    Menu (ESC)

    If you touch the enemies you loose life. If you fall into the lava you will die instantly.

    Apparently the "Quit" Option in the menu is not working with my DropBox-Link so i have to appologize for that.

  • ok that worked so far....

    but after jumping and falling he lands into lava but i want the player to fall out of screen... (through the solid rocks under the lava)

  • Well i have created the following little platformer.

    Find the key. then find the lock to open the door.

    All i want (at the moment) is:

    If the Player falls into lava

    -change UI_life->Frame

    -make player jump up a little bit (maybe even flash him) (to notice he got hit(damage))

    -fall again.

    I hope it is clear what i mean.

    It's like Sonic the Hedgehog getting hit und getting knocked back... but i want the player to kinda jump.

    One thing i found already....

    If im standing right of a crate and shoot it. It should move left... right?

    but it is moving right instead

  • Well Question is:

    I can check wether the mouse is over an object. -->And (in my case) make it visible.

    But i want that object to become invisible as soon as the mouse leaves that object....

    I tried:

    Every tick

    -Mouse is over Object -->Visible = True

    -Else -->Visible = False

    but that works not correctly cause sometimes multiple objects are visible.... and then disappear all together.

  • Ok guys...

    after playing around a bit with the thoughts of the video Vallar mentioned i'm going a slightly different way with that game. so the Shop (and all the work with it) will be gone in the next version.

    But i will make this game much more of an action/shooter game...

    Stay alerted on this thread and find out what will come next

    Edit: actually i was thinking about implementing some of the things mentioned in the video.

    But now when i see this video i think it is an awesome opportunity to polish my game.

    A new version is out.

    See first post for information about it.

    At the moment the game is very easy, cause you get plenty of starting credits to test the game.

    You should use this opportunity, cause in the future its getting harder.

    In the array "1" means is dissapeared and "0" means is still visible.
