  • There are open source solutions that will help you create a complex website. Although I don't like them, there are Joomla and Drupal which are very basic and easy to use. These are called CMS or Content Management Systems.

Wordpress is my favorite CMS because it I know how to use it and modify it to any website I'd like to have. It's also very user friendly.

  • Granhunter101: Do you mean the art style or the general design of your game?

  • I must admit that it's not that easy to roll into Construct as a new guy. But there are tons of examples available on this forum that helped me enormous. Over the years, I've learned how to learn from examples, I guess some people just don't know how to do that yet..

But I don't agree on the community. No matter how simple or hard my questions are sometimes, I always get an answer within a day (sometimes within the hour!). This is one of the main reasons I chose for Construct..!

  • The Mouse Behavior will do this for you.

edit: You'll probably want to hide the default cursor as well. To do this create an event: Start of Layout' with the action: 'Set cursor visibility' under MouseKeyboard.

  • Take a look at variables. You can make a variable on zombie deaths and add 1 to the variable every time a zombie is killed.

Then add a system event that checks the variable. When it's equal or higher than 1000, your achievement is unlocked.

edit: not sure on how you would save your progress..

  • I found this article to be really interesting on this subject: http://www.gamasutra.com/view/feature/1 ... php?page=1

It's about Gameplay Progression. How you can alter the Gameplay to keep the player interested. You probably know a lot of these techniques already, but it's still worth the read.

  • Try Construct 3

  • Sorry for the interlude, my laptop died (2 years old with a 1 year warranty, grr).

Wait what? Where do you live? In Europe we have a European law that says that you have warranty for as long as you might expect the product to last. (Laptops are supposed to last at least 3 years I think.)

No matter what the vendor or the manufacturer say.

p.s.: Awesome to see more development on C2!

  • Wow thank you both very much. I'm going to look into both examples to see which one suits my needs best. I understand how the first example works now, it was a bit too difficult for me to read the code you posted. But after seeing the .cap it's a lot more clear!

  • Well I currently have no idea what I'm doing (I'm just doing what JayJay suggests and haven't figured out how it works yet). So if you have a better suggestion, please do tell me.

  • Sorry for taking so long to get this straight, I'm still doing this wrong.

Maybe you can help me by taking a look at the .cap: https://rapidshare.com/files/460290723/rotating.cap

Thanks a lot for the help so far!

  • Wow thanks, that looks a bit too complicated for me to come up with at the moment. I'm having a bit of a hard time to understand it.

Am I right that the WeaponSlot is the base object and the Mech is the object that you want to rotate with the WeaponSlot? And did your create a variable with the XOffset and the YOffset of the WeaponSlot?

  • Thank you for your reply! It worked, but not as I expected it to work. What I'm trying to do is this:

I have 3 sprites and want to rotate them in a way that their relative position and angle towards each other stays the same. Something like this:

    <img src="http://img857.imageshack.us/img857/7663/examplevy.jpg">

Is it possible to create some kind of parent to do this?

  • Hello everyone,

Is it possible to set the pivot point (or hot spot) of a sprite to a certain value?

I'd like to have multiple objects rotate around the same axis.

    Thanks in advance,

    Maarten

  • Have you created collision masks?

  • So do I, but I posted it anyways. There would be no point in making posters / boxes for a product that's called 'Project Cafe'. There's no way in hell that Nintendo will use that name for their new console.

It could be a working title, but it wouldn't make sense to make boxes / posters for that as well..
