  • I cannot answer your question, but maybe you can get some answers yourself by using the debug mode and breakpoints in C3 runtime.

This way you can exactly see at chosen points when a value is changed, for example.

  • I like how original it is and the music is different. I like different :)

  • I wanted to share something that might be useful:

An example of a slowly upwards going curve:

Turn formulas into something visual here: graphsketch.com to try things out. (probably also possible in spreadsheet software)

  • Try Construct 3

  • Mikal-quote: "I worked at Sega in the past, so Virtua Cop is running on a development version of the Saturn (...)"

hello Mikal, what did you do at Sega?

PS: I forgot to mention how I also like this game (and the classic version of it).

  • Question for FAQ: how to implement dodge (w/ platform behaviour)

    construct.net/en/forum/construct-3/how-do-i-8/how-do-i-set-up-logic-for-a-do-138373

Included: background info on the question, the answer and a gif, showing the action.

Missing: example project or screenshot of events.

  • Newt, thanks for the to the point solution and summarized wording - almost like a poem.

tommyoliversays, nice effects/juice! Take for example the enemy closing eyes and explosion animation.

  • I also had it 2 or 3 times.

I do not know what the reason was, could be anything (outside C3). I restarted and it worked fine again.

  • Relatable.

I have a full time job and family life.

I am probably going to work a few hours less on my full time job.

Also, I am trying to sleep early, get up early, to work on my game(s), but that is a hard thing to do for me.

Right now I use evenings (about 2 hours) and weekends (3-4 hours per weekend).

I can think of 2 time management tips:

    - schedule activities

    - remove distractions (close your e-mail client, put your phone on silent, no social media)

However, this plugin is not explicitly designed to insert html elements. I'm working on a specific plugin, with some extra features.

    Very nice!

  • I think there is not enough documentation (/explanation) in the templates.

    Example 1:

    int(Ghost.X / Game.TileSize) * Game.TileSize + (Game.TileSize/2)

I know what "int" does, but I believe you should mention what it does and why you are using (and/or perhaps mention the manual for further reading).

However, I do not know what "/game.tilesize" does and why you are doing it. There is no explanation in the template.

    Example 2:

    game sprite.

Why are you using it to store the "global variables"? (why not use global variables or, if possible, local variables?)

I think the templates help beginners (and me) more, if you add more "what does this do and why am I using it"-explanations.

    Thanks for doing the templates!

  • It's always ideal to have 1 pixel transparent border for every image except tiled backgrounds.

Should I make a C3 suggestion to change the C3 default crop function to: leave 1 pixel transparant border around an image?

Or is it just as easy to do this in our own drawing software, before we export it to PNG?

  • Scirra does provide a Greenworks plugin, but it doesn't work very well, theoretically you can only unlock achievements and activate the overlay with the Greenworks plugin, so there's no way to access the leaderboards for example.

I added an idea for the achievement-popup part: construct3.ideas.aha.io/ideas/C3-I-569

  • I've never understood their lack of interest on steam support.

hi kossglobal, I think it is not a lack of interest, but a matter of having a lot of subjects to work on and decide which one will be worked on first. :)
