  • hello Rable!

Sorry for ruining the party, but this is what I copied from a sticky:

If you have suggestions for new features or improvements in Construct 3, we have a feature suggestion platform here which lets everyone vote on their favourite ideas:

    https://construct3.ideas.aha.io

Please look for existing ideas before submitting a new one. It's better to get all votes on the same idea than spreading it around.

  • I am wondering if the Scirra team ever had a look at some of the events and thought: hmmm, it is best not to promote usage of events in this way, for educational purposes?

(and did the developer change events based on Scirra's feedback?)

Or were the games left untouched?

I have not found anything that falls in this category, but I am interested in a glimpse behind the scenes. :)

  • On the start page, click on "Game Demos" on the left and choose from the 4: Kiwi Story, Glokar, Pop Lab, Demonoire.

  • 1. Not automatically. You can right click on an image and choose "find all references", to see if it has been used.

    2. Yes, seperate directories.

    3. I think steam has a tool that only uploads changed files. So that you do not have to upload the complete game. I do not have a lot of experience with steam yet.

    4. I think there are several ways to save data and they do not automatically get lost when you update your game.

    5. Steam: Valve always gets 30%, as far as I know. The process: pay 100 usd, then use the website to upload images, trailers and texts your game. It takes some time to read and fill out everything. Uploading the game was tricky, since the video tutorial from Steam was based on an older version of the software, so I had to use the manual. Steam will check if your game complies to their rules.

I also like itch.io and gamejolt a lot. They take a much smaller cut, itch.io even allows a 0% cut...

  • Cool racing gameneverk. I like the visuals. However, I don't like frequent camera zoom in/out which I find very uncomfortable.

The zooming makes it look very intense. I like it...

  • Big weezer fan me is enjoying Weezer's latest cover of Toto's Africa.

The backstory on that cover is funny, the song is easy on the ears. :)

    (also available on spotify)

  • Yes, C3 can do that. (I haven't made a simulation game yet though)

I think you can start by making a prototype, using tutorials and FAQ-topic in the the How To section in the forum.

I think you also need arrays, so I suggest to read the manual + tutorials on that topic as well.

If this is your first project, perhaps try a tiny (more simple) game first.

Keep us updated on your progress of the prototype. :)

  • hello,

Resolution noob here. Please don't be alarmed.

I am trying to understand resolution & ratio.

Below are the talked about resolutions, I think. (what you are using and what the switch outputs)

They are all exactly 16:9. Am I wrong?

So I think I do not understand why your game looks distorted in some cases. :)

    480/270 = 1,777778 (16:9)

    720p - 1280/720 = 1,777778 (16:9)

    900p - 1600/900 = 1,777778 (16:9)

    1080p - 1920/1080 = 1,777778 (16:9)

(Note: one entry in the wikipedia article has 720p using a resolution of 1366x768, which has not the same 16:9-ratio as the resolutions above. But I understand the Switch does not use 1366x768?)

(sources: 2 wiki articles: one about the switch and "list of common resolutions")

  • Overall I am happy to see everything I am using is working.

Also, now I am still logged in when I return to the forums. Great!

So far my favourite new forum feature: to follow a topic without replying to it <3

  • Perhaps you can start by opening templates (bundles with C2) and look for the runner template.

  • Perhaps make the legs and arms connected by a limited joint, so it doesn't turn 360 degrees and for jumping perhaps use impulse at the center of the torso instead of force?

Did you have a look at the ragdoll template?

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Thanks for the example.

    Set unixDate
    Browser.ExecJS("new Date('" & textDate & "').getTime() / 1000")
    [/code:315j3yd3]

If unixdate is a C3 system expression, why do you use js?
  • hi chadorireborn,

  • How does Enhance make money?

We have deals with the service providers so that we make money when apps implement their services through Enhance. This is a win all around as developers and publishers are not charged to use Enhance and service providers get a chance to have their services implemented easily.
