  • You could use a video, or what I prefer to do is create a new set of duplicate sprites of character etc and create an event based system. Bit more leg work, but using the tween behaviour for movement, fades for text etc it works well.

    Create a new layer and hide all other layers on start of layout, then add your movements, texts etc, then have a fading black Sprite at the end the size of your viewport. When a trigger occurs to set this Sprite to fade, disable the layer you've been working on for the cutscene and enable your other layers.

  • Scale inner or outer depending on where you need UI buttons and have your background 200 pixels or so wider than your viewport.

  • Nice idea and good fun for your son. Just doing a math game myself for my kids, multiple minigames, the LAN idea is great, have fun with the project.

    Just wondering if anyone can give a pointer to these crashes, or confirm what the internet is saying.

    So getting these crashes, lots of them, all very similar. Looks like it could be a WebView and or Chrome issue. If so, I guess there's no way to resolve unless the user updates both those apps.

    A user has also reported the same crash that happens on every Apple device (so is currently not published on iOS), so need to look into that more, could also be related to this issue

  • Have you set the new image point for each frame of the animation?

    You can also use the pin at distance expression

  • What's the issue? Make sure all MobileAdvert fields are filled in correctly and only use simple minification (advanced will break it)

    Unfortunately having massive issues with iOS so no ETA on release at this time. Just working on some gamepad control, then should be looking at publishing on Steam.

    Hope you guys enjoy it (pre warning, some of the levels are hard!) and any feedback/reviews good or bad are much appreciated.

  • Tried 12/13/14, xcode running latest version, multiple setting changes in C3.

    Had a couple of xcode developers look at it but because it's Cordova, they have no idea. Another chaps looking at it now and said "the code is breaking it" so not sure what's going on, if some events or files are corrupting on export.

    Just tried the canvas rendering method and still the same, crashing in the same spot each time (I've also removed this spot, an event based cutscene)and it's just crashing when the layout starts instead of letting the cutscene play/fade sprite fade in.

    Weirdly, I made a button that goes to a random level and that worked.. made a button that goes to another cutscene level and that crashed

  • Literally stripped one of my games to barebones, audio, fonts, events and the thing just won't play level 1. Really not impressed with trying to export to iOS, android, nice and simple, everything works as it should. iOS however oh my!

    All crashes seem to be down to font and/or audio, yet without using any fonts or audio, the crashes still occur.

  • Small update: There was an old rogue .MP3 file and a couple of .ogg audio files, removed .MP3 and changed the .ogg to .webm.

    Still crashing! Tried adding the font to the .plist file to see if the font was to blame, found a topic on stackoverflow that suggested the FontServicesDaemonManager was caused by a memory leak due to auto layout size (on a native app) so tried tinkering with request full screen etc but to no avail. Seems to crash when going onto level 1, a cutscene happens and crashes then. The rest of the cutscene will play (images fade etc) but when the black fade sprite I use appears to transition from the cutscene to the main level, fade in happens, new black sprite appears but fails to fade out

  • They will keep all their saved data as long as you don't change the saving mechanics.

    In addition, if a user deleted the app without clearing the app data and cache, this will be restored if they reinstall the app on the same device.

  • As dop says, are you using the latest version? And if so, when exporting you won't be able to use advanced minification, just simple.

  • Just pulled this from the laggy simulator as it crashed (doesn't restart to loading splash screen on the sim, stops dead)

    Having found a few other threads with similar errors im guessing some audio files are at fault
