• I cannot believe it was that simple, Sometimes i really question my intelligence lol.

Thank you so much for that, you have just saved me a tonne of grief.

• *Update*

I have tried with family collisions disabled and individual sprite collisions disabled - both still allow me to return to the main menu if i click where the sprite is AND its invisible with collisions turned off.

• Its in the Construct2 folder in your C:/ drive or wherever Construct2 is installed

• Yeah no kidding. But so am i, thank you

One last thing regarding this, Is there any reason why i would still be able to click the "PauseMainMenu" sprite even though the pause menu is not visible and collisions for the whole PauseMenu family are turned off?

It seems to be one problem after another with this bloody thing >.<

• Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
• I dont get this - i used the boolean variable on the family before and it didnt work. Perhaps the "wait 0.1 secs" was throwing off because i have taken that out now and readded the boolean and it works fine...

Im so sorry to of wasted both of you two's time >.<

Many many thanks though. Im so glad this is resolved. Was driving me nuts!

• Hey eli0s, just saw your post, will check it now

• Okay so i tried with a global variable instead:

[/attachment:hsqwjwl7]

I am getting the same results. After checking on debug mode, i can see the variable is being set to 1 when "Esc" is pressed but when i clicked the "PauseResume" sprite - the variable is not changing back and the menu stays.

This is most confusing.

• Can someone for the love of all things game related and sacred please try explain why my game pause menu is not working? The menu shows up when pressing Esc but when i click PauseResume (event 21) to close, it will not close! This is driving me insane >.<

This is the only part in all my event sheets where the pause menu is referenced. It is on a GUI event sheet and on a GUI layer within the project. Everything else on the event sheet and layer works fine. Except this. The family consists of 5 images - a background and 4 sprites.

Literally considering pulling out the rest of my hair on my shaved head out >:(

Many thanks in advance,

• Thank you both for helping and coming up with a solution

Im sorry to appear dense however, but is there a chance this could be explained in simpler terms? Ive had a looked at the new capx and i understand the event/actions that are happening but i dont quite get how the difference is made.

• eli0s That makes sense i guess but then why am i not having that problem with the Yee enemy when it shoots?

blackhornet Thanks for the suggestion, i had a look/mess around with it but i was getting same results

• I'll inbox you the capx for same reasons as before Good to hear you're all good my friend ^_^

In the meantime if anyone else has suggestions also, I'll be more than happy to try them out

• Ahhh eli0s my hero good to see you man, hows it going?

But yeah, i am using the bullet behaviour. Ive changed the events as suggested so it now looks as follows:

[/attachment:34ne9hoc]

Unfortunately im getting the same results

• Hey all,

Im having an issue with the bullet behaviour. It is spawning correctly and it IS moving towards the mouse co-ordinates but its not accurate... at all. It moves in the general direction of the mouse co-ordinates, but not EXACTLY towards the mouse co-ordinates (which is the desired effect). Instead the bullet is always 50-100 pixels above or below the cursor, depending on its placement on the screen. See the screenshot below:

[/attachment:wmi7j8gg]

Am i doing something wrong or is "the general mouse direction" the only way it can move? The following screenshots are of when the bullet being created and the its off-course trajectory:

[/attachment:wmi7j8gg]

[/attachment:wmi7j8gg]

As you can see, its moving in the general direction of the cursor but nowhere near the actual co-ordinates.

Any help would be hugely appreciated, as always

Many thanks all,

moymoymoy

• Thats great, many many thanks!

• Hey all, just a quick question really to confirm if what im thinking is correct. Here goes

If i put all my enemies into a family within C2 and then in the event sheet, i say that if a bullet collides with the family, it will take a set amount of hp off of any enemy within that family? If that makes sense?

If im to do this, it would be a big thing to get started on with my project which is why im looking for confirmation instead of diving right in and trying it out.

As always, thanks for the input all

Have a great day,
