  • Things like this will never get sorted until Scirra actually makes a real game with their product. Some issues surface only in larger projects, and can't be reproduced reliably in a dumbed down .capx file.

Just because you can't reproduce a bug in a new project with nothing substantial in it, doesn't mean the bug does not exist - it just means you can't reproduce it easily so the devs can check it out.

With respect, Ashley needs to use C2 for real game development so he can see the issues that crop up (like this one) when you build a real game beyond the scope of Space Blaster. . . . .

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Yeah, I would have thought an HTML5 engine would support html tags, that would make text display alot easier, and varied.

  • C2 is powered by HTML5, sure would be nice if we could have a text object that supports html tags!

There has been issues with audio on win8 (at least fo pc, don't know about phone) since R164 at least.

In my experince backroung music will stop for no apparent reason. Sometimes it may not happen at all, and if it does it is usually after considerable time (llike hours). Because of that Making a capx in order to report the bug is not possible.

If you are able to reproduce the problem, I would suggest posting a bug report, so Ashley can check it out.

Aside from that Win8 apps are still better than NW since they are not affected by the jank bug in Chrome.

  • I was just reading an old post that was like 10 pages long, and some of the replies were quite lengthy, and the whole topic was very interesting. And of course some topics are even longer that that.

Maybe I'm alone here but sometimes it would be useful to be able to see a reference to the Author of the original post. I just feel it would be useful to know if a new post is from a contributor, or the person who started the topic.

So I was just wondering if it would possible to add a reference to this somewhere - perhaps on the right of the green bar that shows the date when a reply was posted.

It could be something simple like: OP UserName.

    Thanks for considering....

  • You can make your own with events fairly easily...with custom/fitting graphics too.

Making your own is the way to go IMO. The built in one has problems as you describe here, and also never really fit with your game - they just don't look cool.

There are some good tutorials on the forums to help you out if you need - jus search sliders or something like that....

  • Okay. Once I get the confirmation from my boss, I'll buy it. Waiting to see if he put my check in my account.

Edit: Got it, install it, Crashing right after I click the exe. Trying to see if install the latest framework will help.

    Hi, check your graphics drivers.

PS: And hopefully you bought direct from Scirra, as steam version is often reported as buggy.

  • isn't it funny that only available PC export option is some 3rd party v0.12.0 alpha (!!!) software?

I guess that in 2017 there will be stable v1.00.0

Look on the bright side two years to fine tune a game that is already complete - sorta like enforced quality control. . . . way to go Google . . .

  • About all the "skinnable" which i was reading about through tons of topics over the past few months...

    Really?

Is it so important for you to have a colored/darker or black background?

90% of all softwares have got a white background, so we're all used to it.

If it's to bright for you at night, adjust your monitor. Or invert your screen colors if you can't live without it.

    ........

But skinnable is just a waste of time.

If the skin of Construct is your only problem... /sigh

Well, not real important, but a preference. I use Photoshop every day and it doesn't have any white backgrounds - and I'm used to It. I use C2 every day and it has white backgrounds - and I'm used to it. But I definitely prefer Photoshop gui.

I couldn't care two hoots about Mac, or Linux, but C3 is going to support that audience.

Since the IDE is receiving a massive overhaul, you need to get it right from the ground up.

  • Tilemap is useless for me, can't get rid of the seams... so it seems useless to me (pardon the pun)

  • Personally I see little point in the importance of supporting every single operating system in world...

Lol, always gives me a giggle when people want to use 'a better os', but then want to use software designed for the best os on the planet!

But I guess if Scirra can make it happen then thats cool. I just hope linux driver/distro nightmare doesn't waste all Ashleys time with bug reports.
