Fist thanks for this poll ^^

I voted for the reference search, because it's a shame there's no vote for it yet. As much as I'd love a full debugger, a better control over the references could be something quite efficient already.

Like some other people said, multiplayer and other big features are going to be great to have for sure, but maybe the development could focus before a bit on the IDE, usability and workflow for the moment.

I would also support modularity and other platforms (one day I hope to be able go back to linux with all my softwares...)

• Yeah I saw that, but I think teledine meant to have a different name for C2 as well

I'm just trying to say that the number "2" doesn't work that well as it's not an update from a version "1", which doesn't exist. So it would have made sense to have a branch name for each version, namely Construct Classic and Construct Live (for example)

Or CC and CL for people who don't like super_long_names_with_extensions

Anyway let's head back to the OP as this is probably not gonna change any time soon

• Yeah and you could try to store additional variables in the line objects as they're created, to remember their starting and ending point (+a sky movement variable in your case), and compare that with the position of each star

I can't really help more than linking to a previous thread because I'm not actively using C2 these days and it'll be hard to get back into this particular (headache-y!) project

• Hmm yeah...I may have forgotten this isn't a text console program :p

• I want to press TAB to auto complete a word :]

• I have to admit it always find it weird having to add the "2" when talking about Construct to someone

If CC is here to stay around, C2 could be something like Construct Live or Construct Universal

It's probably hard to change the name now tho :p

• Yay, another C2 music thingie ^^

I've got sound here

Now it just needs a cool interface and some way to share/export stuff

• Hot stuff

Do you play from some kind of soundfont, or are those separate piano sounds?

Also, did you see that post? How about a full-blown MIDI synthesizer? =)

• Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
• nice, we need MOAR SCRIPTZ for this forum (because it's a pain honestly)

• Hmm as far as I'm interested (I'm into vfx as well) I don't think you should bother including the actual encoding in there (and I doubt you can find better than ffmpeg either)

There's already a bunch of tools for that...and C2 is becoming a huge download already

I wouldn't mind native support for playback control though

• I saw a post sometime ago about INI vs XML vs JSON...

The guy did run some test on a server side script and found out the response was much faster with INI

INI is kinda old but the structure is very simple...I guess that helps sometimes

• Try Xrecode II, fast and easy drag and drop conversions... I always use that for C2

• They changed the urls a while ago...

I had to replace all the capx from my drive I linked to the forum at the time :p

Anyway, the new address is

https://drive.google.com/uc?id=XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Where XXX is again that code you get for your file links like

docs.google.com/file/d/XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX/edit

You just need the FILE id instead of the FOLDER as it used to be

• Okay I posted a reply on the clay.io thread

You may want to post there instead if you decide to stick with clay.io

There's no pagination in my example though, but I guess it's doable as long as you can do it in html

It's a simplified version from what I have in my project, because inline css in quite unreadable at some point!

But there was other things, like links or webfonts

Btw someone posted a tutorial here too for custom leaderboards and just basic text fields
