I understand your reasoning. But, imo, wouldn't it be more acceptable to have your paying customers make that choice?

Why not at least offer 4.4 in the build choices? You can still put 5.0+ as the default in the export's dropdown list. Then, if someone chooses 4.4 they would see a warning that it will add the 20mb of "bloat". But, to ignore over 300 MILLION devices (18.8% of android devices use 4.4) from using any app or game made in C3 is very disappointing. That's not a small number. That's like telling the population of the United States that they can't install a C3 game. Not to mention, you've just eliminated most of my devices from being used for any testing and seriously has me questioning if C3 is the right route for me this year...since mobile is my primary target. Until now, I was very excited for C3......

I truly hope you'll think about this and reconsider.

  • Sorry, but it's not a 3D game. Scott Cawthon, the creator, did an excellent job of giving it the illusion of 3D. He made the assets in 3ds Max and then imported them into the engine as 2D images/animations. The camera effect was done with CTF's perspective object. Like I said before, this can be done in C2.

  • Well, it's entirely possible to make a fnaf game with C2, seeing as it was originally done in Clickteam Fusion. As you probably know, there's a ridiculous amount of fnaf tuts on youtube. So, it should be fairly easy to convert those instructions over to C2 events. Think of it as a learning experience.

  • MIT App Inventor 2 is probably the closest to being like C2. There are tons of tutorials on their site and on Youtube.

  • Use the Keyboard > On key code pressed event. The key code for "Enter" is 13.

Then add the action you're using to advance the dialogue.

Here's a list of all key codes... It even has an interactive tool for ppl too lazy to look thru the list. <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy">

  • Or perhaps add an option in settings to choose how the mousewheel functions...Scroll or Zoom.

  • Hi Jamie.

The Fade behavior does have a Destroy property built-in. Just be sure to enable it in the Fade properties window. Otherwise, you would have to destroy the object manually with an event.

  • Ahh, thanks I'll definitely remember that.

Unfortunately, it doesn't show that in the debugger if it's not static.

  • I don't understand.

Your screenshot shows that you don't have Static checkmarked. Otherwise, it would say "Local static number var = 0".

That is why it's not working.

  • Hi there. Double-click on the local variable to edit and make sure Static is checkmarked. It will then work.

This will force the variable to stay at the value it was changed to, otherwise it resets back to the initial value.

  • I just assumed that it was always pronounced "SKEER-ah" and not "SEER-ah". Then I started to doubt myself when I saw some youtube vids pronouncing it the 2nd way. Glad to know to proper pronunciation now. Also cool to learn how the name originated.

  • In the current version of Personal Licence agreement, there is a provision that prohibits people, as any type of business (including sole trader/proprietorship), from using the Personal Licence to earn money off developed games while at the same time it allows unrestricted monetisation.

The current version of the Personal License also has an exception that allows startup businesses (ie., has made $5000 or less) to use the personal license.

Wouldn't this apply to you as well?

FYI - This forum does have a Block function. If you go into your User Control Panel, you'll see a section called Friends & Foes.

Just add someone's name to the Foes list and their posts will disappear. You can still see that they posted though (with a link to click if you want to view it). I vaguely remember reading somewhere that they have plans to implement a similar function on the new forum as well.

However, I do agree with I'm not sure that it would make things better, especially with a "certain person" that gets bent out of shape when you ignore him. But, then again, it could possibly expedite the process for those that are clearly on a path of self-destruction.

I think the post did what it needed to do and now it's pretty much overkill.

They have heard the woes coming from commercial devs and they have responded.

    Thanks Tom and Ashley

We all appreciate your efforts and I look forward to testing out Construct 3

Yes, and for the most part, I agree with you and a few others in this thread. I know how it feels to invest so much time and money into a product that you don't want "cut your losses" and run to another product...just for that small glimmer of hope that things will change. Sometimes it's hard to make that decision because you're uncertain if the choice you make will be the right one. I commend you for your thoughtful and rational post expressing these concerns that many others are feeling as well. I have been doing dev work in other engines for a long time. C2 started out as a toy for me and I eventually decided to push it to its limits to see what it could do for more serious projects. I totally get where you're coming from. But I also know that I can't be reliant on just one product. Personally, I want to give Scirra a chance to prove they're right in the long-run. Until then, I'll just have to wait and see. (and be a suck up! Lol!)

I've got news for you, young man, ...there's a list of talented, skilled, and mature members in this forum that I would GLADLY take advice from.

Sorry to break it to ya, sonny. You're not on that list. Adios!

I feel very disrespected by Ashley and Tom and that is not something I am willing to tolerate from people I have supported with my money and promoted with my games and helped the beginners in their forum.

    Respect goes both ways.

Do you honestly think your incessant badgering and demands for immediate answers was respectful?

    Auf wiedersehen!
