  • The built in plugins/behaviors are those that comes with C2. (The mouse, sprite, text, textbox objects, etc...)

If you haven't downloaded any third-party plugin from the plugins forum, then all your objects are allowed except the four we already mentionned.

You can find the full list of built-in plugins in the manual's plugin reference part. Any other plugin is a custom/third-party plugin.

I'm not saying such a list wouldn't be implemented. I'm just pointing out how to workaround in the meantime, until this feature gets added, if judged adequate by Tom when he'll have the time to implement it.

    Tom's todo-list is as long as Ashley's.

  • Save your world as a serialized string.

Each string is then a different key in the webstorage.

  • Extract from the uploading to the scirra arcade tutorial:

    imitations

Currently the Arcade only supports the built-in plugins and behaviors, <font color="red">except for WebStorage, AJAX, Browser and Facebook</font>. These plugins are not currently allowed on the Arcade, nor currently are any third-party plugins or behaviors.

Custom plugins/behaviors are any plugin/behavior that can be downloaded in the Plugins for C2 forum.

  • How cool would that be if C2 had a nodejs exporter, allowing to code the logic in C2, but still export as/to a web server in the end ?

It's probably not for any time soon.

As for nowJS it looks interesting, but will it be possible to implement it as a plugin with a shared workspace in the sealed C2's SDK ?

And also, how will it behave for action games ?

I'm curious what the result of your experimentations will be.

  • That's a good question.

I'd say it's not possible at the moment, Ashley will be the one that can give more details about the chrome export side of things.

Edit: Oh yeah right Ninja'd, when does that British sleep ? ^^

On the other hand, why provide the html docs in download with the app ?

The iframe allow you to host/access it online. You could upload it on dropbox, and still access it from your application.

The only drawback I see is the downloading size. But the "On loaded" event of the iframe would allow you to make some timer/symbol that signals the user it's downloading.

Once you downloaded the doc, it stays in the user's cache. Only the first time/downloading of the manual would be an "issue".

And this would still work as intended in the chrome export I think.

  • I guess so. Tom could confirm or deny.

  • Same observation here.

Since you have basicly two music sounds : the intro, the looping piece, just make 2 files out of it instead of 4, gather loop intro and intro1 as one file, loop2 and 3 as another one, play the first file only once, chain with the second file and loop it.

You might reduce the number of pauses.

  • I guess you've had to wait for the update to be approved.
