  • C2 is an interesting tool to teach some "real deal" programming concepts.

Data structures, event programming, finite-state machine, etc...

That's what separates C2 from other "toyish" game making tools.

But you should reach out to them and tell them to take the time to update the version installed as well as the project. R95 is pretty old, I think there wasn't even functions in there. If they want to stay "on top of the game", they really should take the time/effort to do that update, they would earn back that time later on.

  • The latest version is beta r142.

And this behavior is definitely a 3rd part behavior that left from your previous install.

Just go and check in the folder where you installed C2\exporters\html5\behaviors I guess it should be in the folder "multiplayer" and if you edit "edittime.js" in a notepad, look at the line "author" it's probably not "Scirra", which means it is third part.

  • Check this thread and search for the keyword "Fluid physics" at any date in advanced search.

  • it seems a plugin i made that worked before caused this crash any idea how to fix it?

Are you sure the plugin has been updated to deal with the latest SDK ?

Check the changelogs of previous Construct2 releases, and see if it fits the current SDK.

  • Well, Nijek your point isn't that valid.

You plan on using "only" the HTML5 export options.

Nevertheless, with the complete version of C2 you get the mobile export options and more out of the box.

If you really want to compare to GM, you need to pick GM with the same set of features. So you're not looking at 200$ but actually at least 1098 $.

Still thinking it's more expensive ?

When you pay for a packaged meal, you don't ask for a discount because you don't plan on eating the potatoes in the meal, do you ?

Also once again, the personal license gets you going until you've made 5000$ out of all the products you've made with Construct2.

If you really can't afford more, go with this license the time to make those 5000$ and as pointed out, once you've reached the 5000$, the business license is only a fraction on it "already" paid by what you've made.

  • Rhindon: 7z is an open source compression format you can download from their website.

  • Well as mentioned in said-topic, it'd be nice to make the suggestion to Ashley to add the features you put in, and see if they can make their way into the official plugin.

  • Try Construct 3

  • Who knows, this might be the beginning of something the next generation will know as the Scirra Expo <img src="smileys/smiley4.gif" border="0" align="middle" /> (I just have that image of Ashleys Year 2033 Keynote in mind ...)

    I like that idea <img src="smileys/smiley4.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • You should read this topic.

  • Congrats and good luck !

  • It was where to position the control pad so that it and the player sprite displays both.

Issue should be resolved with the "drawing" in my previous post.

  • <img src="https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/36472942/construct/forumhelp/Parallax-vs-noPara.png" border="0" />

The control pad is on his own layer with parallax to 0,0.

Notice how the dashes act as a representation of the Window size (size of the project) and so you should use them as a marker to know where to place things.

The player sprite is on his own layer with a parallax of 100,100.

To help you visualize, you can set the layer's property "Parallax visible in editor" to Yes.

  • Example capx.

But I strongly suggest you to check out more tutorials/elements from the "How do I FAQ" (for example, at the category "Webstorage" you would have found what you were looking for) before going further.

The mere fact that you are using several object types when you could be using simply instances suggest you might be still lacking in experience and could use some practice from the tutorials/how do I examples/manual articles.
