  • Well, as you mentioned Newground's API is not fully translated to JS. Until it's done, not much can be done on C2's part.

    You'd probably have better luck raising the awareness on NG itself.

    People can join the "long time fan" that started this on github.

    The app featured wasn't indeed done with C2.

    Although, in the passing year, we've add some additions to C2 and third-part addons which makes it almost possible to do such an app with C2 nowaday.

    First, you got to be aware, there is a bunch of "preprogrammed" images that can be used. One can not just make a picture of any drawing they made and *magic* have it as a 3D model on their device.

    Anyway, user media plugin helps you take pictures.

    The third-part commercial plugin Q3D allows you to display 3D. To be determined if it works on mobile devices though.

    And the "almost" part comes from the fact that you need to recognize the shape taken in picture.

    In the absolute it's doable, since there's been a QRCode Decoder plugin that pretty much does that.

    You also need this recognized shape to become a texture to apply in real time to the model displayed by Q3D. And I don't know if that can be done.

    Possibly another third-part plugin could help on that I guess.

    Anyway this very app wasn't made with C2, but in the year that has passed since it was first talked about, C2 could now almost allow you to make such an app.

  • Not everyone can create art, so you could consider selling game art packs to raise money to buy the Construct 2 license.

  • This is one possible implementation.

    Make sure your array is filled.

    It may also depend on your current project, there might be more efficient way (or "delayed way" using the function plugin for example), but that's the basic idea.

    I made the whole game in the 72 hours period, the theme had me wondering for a while.

    Grow your garden over the course of a year.

    Shop for the elements you will need and plant the flowers when they will allow you to take the most beautiful picture at the end of the year, after having matured.

    You only need the mouse to play.

    Should be playable on touch device as well.

    • Hoe a plot, so that you can plant a flower or put a decoration.
    • Flowers take some time to arrive to maturation and will have a finite lifetime as well. Take that into account while growing your garden.
    • Plots can become pested, you'll then have to treat them with Anti Pest.
    • A plot occupied by a decoration or a matured flower won't become pested.

  • Hi, have you tried to use the latest stable version r178 ?

    Does it still display the same issue ?

    The startup page in C2 is linked to Internet Explorer. Are you sure that your users have the rights to use that browser and that it is up to date ?

    Because before getting to a blank project you're likely to first hit that startup page.

    You may, as an administrator, execute C2 and modify the fact that the startup page needs to be displayed in the preferences dialog, unticking "Show startup page on start".

    Hopefully the preference would apply to other users as well.

    I hope these leads help resolving your issue.

  • Aurel: Opening the capx file in a soft like winzip, export all the files (it makes the hierarchy like a saved folder), open the .caproj file in the notepad and modify the line with the tag "<saved-with-version>" to a number that correspond with the previous version you're trying to open the project in.

    Save the caproj file and open it in C2 it should work.

  • Well, big companies that have been around selling their AAA engine for the past 15+ years can afford to propose that type of licensing.

    Scirra is barely 3 years old.

  • yeah sorry Kyatric but my game of mine is getting me exhausted & tired because I'm doing all the work alone

    Here's more experience for you then, something new you've learnt thanks to this.

    Don't overdo yourself, working on something to exhaustion doesn't allow you to see things clearly.

    So just grant you some rest and let some time go by. Especially since you don't HAVE TO deliver, you don't have a due date or a deadline, so there is "nothing important" at stake here.

    As for the part about working alone, don't forget a lot of people in this forum do the same, so you're not alone in that boat.

    Just be sure to try to have another activity on the side to allow you to vent frustration in a meaningful way.

    Making games is tiring and nerve wrecking, you have to learn to manage this as you go by. This lesson will help you in every day's life as well.

  • Scirra does not giveaway licenses "like that".

    If you keep an eye on their blog or social networks though they announce from time to time sales and contests which allow you to win some licenses.

    Otherwise, yes, saving sounds like the best idea to go with.
