Artworkz: Press F4 when you already have an action entered in, something like "Text: set text" for example, that is the moment the expression panel will hide/display.
If you press F4 from the layout view, it will indeed preview the project from the layout set as first in your project.

Generally this kind of issue is due to a bad connexion on the uploader part.

You can try to upload via url by clicking the link "Enter a url to the file instead" instead of trying to upload your file directly to the server from your disk.

"handle the error in a graceful manner"; a sever timeout is a server timeout.

Apart from a message asking to get a better connexion (is it really graceful ?) I'm not sure what else could be done.

From the sound of it, you and Baller share some issue, but the issue you post about is irrelevant to the issue posted in the first post of this topic.

That's why you need to post your own bug report and not try to highjack others, especially when the issue is not the same, as per the bug report guidelines of this forum.

The issue from the OP is an issue of axis not giving the same results in different browser.

The issue you describe is not being able to recognise the gamepad at all in two different browsers. Different issues totally.

Also my answer to Mariogamer was made using the latest beta, meaning I did not encounter any issue having my gamepad recognised in either FF or Chrome.

So there is something lacking in the description of your issue to allow to correctly reproduce it.

Again, please refer to the bug reporting guidelines and open your own topic.

If you encounter issues/bug, please open a specific bug report.

From the description/sound of it, your issues are not related to the current issue, so please consider filling a proper bug report.

The Xbox360 controller is actually the one advised as mentioned in the Gamepad manual article.

Always read the manual first.

Also, for me, in firefox AND chrome it is not possible to control only the verticality of the movement. But in my opinion this is actually due to the fact you are using "0" as a limit in your events, not allowing for a deadzone in the usage of the pad.

So if I move slightly/barely my stick towards the right or left, the target will move in that direction nonetheless.

See this example using a deadzone and having a more acceptable movement/feeling in Chrome and FireFox alike.

(using a XBox 360 controller to test with other standard USB but it should be fine nonetheless)

Be sure to keep updated to the
most recent release of Construct 2

If you think you have found a bug in Construct 2 you can report it in this forum BUT
- Make sure it is not already a reported bug by searching through the "Bugs" forum
- Make sure it is not a bug in your events, a difference between what you have coded and what you would expect
- Make sure you're using the very latest version of Construct 2 (beta possibly, stable if this is the very latest release available)
- Attach a .capx of the issue in the simplest manner possible (no 100+ events capx, no 10 mb capx)
- Make sure to read Bug report requirements before posting and providing all the required informations (your configuration, the steps to use to reproduce the bug, any relevant information you can provide)
It is really important since about 50% of reports aren't bugs which takes time out of working on Construct2 directly.

Be responsible, help everybody by making sure it's not your events in cause first.

Be sure to also provide a h264 video.

Don't make your video super HD or anything (480 p is actually already a lot for older devices), keep it as short as possible.

Keep an eye on the RAM it is requiring and make sure it fits the device target.

Start with the multiplayer plugin manual article.

It contains link to fully explaining tutorials that takes different steps explaining how everything works. Don't skip them, start with tutorial number one and read carefully up to number four.

Then if you want to set up your own signalling server, you will need to get it from the online store.

Main trick: Always do go and read the manual first.

Spam waves, as they happen in cycles. Every 6 months give or take, there are such waves.

Users are bothered for a few days, and forgot they ever happened, and 6 or more months later, surprised users discover that Scirra forums do tend to be the target of spam waves of bots.

Not once, even though it has been pointed out by me and others. The last person to answer your topic did also misunderstand it !

The issue has already been treated in other topics/bug reports.

Corruption of capx has been detailed over and fixed, as long as you don't use virtual hard drives.

And if this is not the issue at end, well post a proper bug report following the bug report guidelines as this is what is being asked of any user encountering a bug with C2.
