  • Okay, not really 3D per-se. LOL. My challenge is to checkout this tutorial and give it a try in Construct 2! ;)

  • Inserting code on separate lines (using code insert) doesn't preserve the line breaks. In the HMTL source, it's all mashed between <pre> tags.

  • If anyone needs custom work for a game, feel free to make your request as well - but anything I make will be open to the community.

  • I never expected anyone to use an entire song. You can ask for part of one, or use Audacity to edit and rip parts on your own. People have been ripping parts of songs for years, instead of whole songs, and I'm also happy to create loops for people if they want! :) There's two ways to loop: 1. Exact loop, music never stops, and 2. WOW style, which fades out for a time, then back in.

  • Ok good to know, I expected as much, no worries. :)

  • Ok, so I set an Array object to "not global" and my script didn't work as expected. I changed it back to "global" and everything was fine. My question is, how does that setting effect the array? I don't need it persisted across Layouts (although it's not a problem to delete all items on start of a new Layout.

  • I'm wondering this as well actually. I want to upload my game to get progress feedback (and it is playable), but just wanted to make sure this was ok first. ;)

  • If you use anything other than an eraser with a soft edge, or a tool that can delete backgrounds taking alias into account, you'll end up with either jagged edges, or a line of the old blended color around the edges.   The best way I've found to remove a background color is to use something like Photoship's "Select->Color Range", then hit delete.

  • I agree with both BluePhaze and Arima. I currently have a game in progress that goes full screen, and uses 9-patch and simple resize logic to deal with screen sizes. I even tested it by resizing the window to ARBITRARY sizes and everything just slides into place. Honestly, I think this request is because someone is being lazy. ;P

  • I'm aware of most of this already, but I don't agree 100%. Would you tell a builder to build a house and worry about the foundation quality later - because you just want to save time and see how it will look sooner? Of course not. ;) A foundation is important, and without a solid base to build from, it can cause a whole lot of trouble and extra work down the road (at least in my experience - time is not saved). Yes, you may save time at first, but then when things get slow, it may be too difficult to make the changes later because care was not taken from the start. I agree that scripting may not add much boost, but I'm referring to anything, including graphics. It all needs to be built with care from the start, and not lazily. ;)

  • Sort of, but I mean a similar mode unaffected by rotation. "Position Only", when offset from another object, doesn't keep relative position, but rotates with the object. This is no good for pinning names and status items.

  • FYI: As a workaround, apparently putting "Wait 0" before the call fixes it for now. ;)

  • This may have been asked before, but I didn't find it. It would be nice if the pin behavior had one other mode: "Relative Position" or something similar. I have objects where the life bar is created above them, and it would be nice to be able to do that without going the longer route and doing it "manually". ;) Currently, as the objects rotate, the pin rotates as well. Thanks.

  • OMG! I was was missing the letter "s" on the name!!! That's what I get for not making names a bit more different ... and staying up over 24 hours without sleep. ;)

  • I'm glad I could aid in someone's enlightenment. ;)
