  • Thanks for the recommendation! I've been paying close attention to fatcow, since this is going to be my first website, and Fat Cow's collection of CMS' and Services seem adequate for what I want--a simple website where I can present my projects to the indie community (with a domain of my own). Fat Cow's services are quite similiar to those of bluehost.com. How is your experience so far with ASO? Are you able to use PHP, Ruby and Joomla in it?

  • Whiteclaws: Sure! I'm considering Desura and Steam!

California: Gumroad is exactly what I need right now! Thanks!!!

  • Thanks Arima! BMT MIcro sounds great!

Thanks grimwolf! But do I have to program the website (i.e. PHP) in order to tell the server that the file has to be sent after payment?

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Hey! I got the same error too the first time I uploaded a game! Do not add any extra folders/subfolders. Just the zip that was produced by Construct 2.

I received the error becuase somehow (I honestly don't remember how), I created an extra folder in the zip file that contained all the scripts and media of the game.

I hope this info helps! Let us know once you are able to upload your masterpiece!

  • Hello Scirra Community!

I've been wondering about the following.

How can I charge for the complete version of a game (via paypal), and once I receive the payment, a computer or server automatically sends the .exe to the gamer(costumer).

    Any services you may recommend!?

For example, Scirra does it once you buy a personal license via paypal.

  • It should have generated a folder with the linux, win and osx versions of your game. You shouldn't have a problem installing the program on another machine.

  • BTW; have you tried exporting using node webkit? Both you and your friend will have their own exe file (or osx/linux)

  • Check the following video/tutorial regarding dropbox.

Make sure you have a public folder! If not, let me know, and I'll help you out!

    youtube.com/watch

    It's actually a Construct 2 tutorial.

  • Excellent list!

  • Thanks retrodude! I'll do it!

  • Wow! All the information you've written is extremely helpful!

I was considering either goddaddy or fatcow. It seems that the best course of action is to rent a server and build the website from zero, although it will require considerable programming knowledge (which I'm willing to learn).

Joejoe, I appreciate your time for writing an excellent reply!

    Thanks a lot!!!

  • I'm also interested in reading about the Scirra team's experiences with Ouya!

Scirra Team: Are you planning to release a blog entry reviewing Ouya? It will be highly appreciated!

  • I couldn't make it past the loading images. I had to refresh constantly in order to get to the section where you are able to choose a pachinko machine. Once there, I couldn't play the game. Is it because of Facebook?

  • Hello Scirra Community!

I'm willing to invest on a web site of my own.

Are there any hosting services or website creation tools you recommend?

I'll appreciate your comments and suggestions!

  • Well done Auntie Val!!

I like the "feel" of the game!!!

Regarding the touch controls... I'm using a laptop with touchscreen. I tried it both using touch controls and mouse clicks. The mouse clicks worked, but the touch actions didn't destroy the shell.
