  • So with a license it will be an exe?

  • Hi, sorry if this is in the wrong section, I didn't really think it was 'how do i' topic.

I'm still pretty new to construct so forgive me if this is a duh question. I was interested in the windows 8 (10 soon) and mac desktop exports. I'm still using the free version so I can't test this for myself but when you export to either will it become a exe file or just a html link to open? Exp... say I make my game downloadable online. When the person downloads will it be an application or just something that opens in a browser? Does anyone have an example I cld see? Thanks everyone.

  • ahh i see thank you. I'll have to re work some stuff then

  • Thanks, they do have the solid behaviors on them as well as does the drag and drop objects. But i'll try the other options. Thanks

  • Probably a noob question here but,

im working on something where I have objects with drag and drop behaviors. They work great. But, they also do not collide with other solid objects. I don't want to be able to drag them over solid objects.

    Thanks

    Hey everyone,

I've just finished my first project with Construct. It was sort of a, design game and learn at the same time deal. But I'd like to see what you all think of it, is it worth building into a full game? I've reached the 100 event mark, so I only wanna continue if it has potential. (even tho I'll probably just buy the licence in the future anyways.) FYI's the graphics are "cheap" i guess you could say. I made'em more for just place holding & for quick resources. I kinda like them now though. Would it be better with a Hi Res or more realistic style? Opinions please and feedback. Thanks <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile">

Here's the link. Couple of times it didn't load all the way for me so try twice if not.

  • Hi,

I've searched on the forum but can't seem to find an answer.

I'm working on my first construct game. It has multiple levels. Currently I'm thinking its best to have separate layouts for each level. I know how to link one layout to another and also how to connect one event sheet to multiple layouts.

But, when I make a new layout, all my objects or assets are not present on that layout. So, i have to import them all over again, and re-animate, etc... each one!

How can I share the objects between layouts so I can just plop them in there and get going?

    Thanks

  • brilliant! thanks it worked

  • This is probably a noob question but,

The enemy i made shoots stream of bullets instead of bullets at regular intervals. Say one bullet every .5 seconds.

I've tried setting speed but no luck. I even found a tutorial, but in the game they let their enemy have the same issue.

  • AHHH!!! why didn't I see that. Thanks so much. I've been racking my head over this all day.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • I've been doing this tutorial for adding movement for a platform enemy. But, when I get to the part where I choose "system" > "else", it says Else Not Valid Here. Why is it doing this? I'm following the instructions. Is this an issue with versions? I'm using v173-s.

    Here's the tut link.

https://www.scirra.com/tutorials/253/ho ... ame/page-7 (note- I've only done the movement part)

I couldn't get a picture or capx to attach, said "Sorry, the board attachment quota has been reached."

    So here's a pic

  • Thanks.. I think construct will work nicely.

  • Hey everyone, Haven't been here in awhile. Used construct awhile back and didn't do much with it. But now I'm pumped about making some games!

anyways... I'm doing research to see if Construct 2 fits what I need to do. So far it does but one question I have and can't find an answer for is, can it produce standalone applications. As in, one you download from a site and play. Not just in browser. (I know about all the platforms it can publish to.)

Also, is construct idea for making multi level games..example, super Mario world? Where you play from level to level and save progress in between.

    Thank in advance,

and thanks for actually taking the time to post reply. Been on some forums lately where people are just plain out jerks. I don't understand why you post in a forum just to be rude and not help.

  • hi sorry its taking a few days to write back.. the reason I wanted to take the program at all was just to have a professional teach me scripting. Do any of you advice on a good book or guide that could show me... something really for people who know nothing at all about it
