  • I have updated the first post with my .capx

  • Problem Description

When objects with applied WebGL effects are on a layout that scrolls they change their look / behavior depending on where the layout is.

    Description of Capx

The .capx is made up of simple objects with behaviors, there are no events in the eventsheet

Notice how the waterfall changes it's color / style completely when the layout scrolls also notice how the warp effect on the pink rectangle changes when the layout scrolls...

    Steps to Reproduce Bug

    • Add object (sprite, tiledbg etc.)
    • Apply a distortion WebGL-Effect
    • Scroll the layout

    Observed Result

WebGL Effects change their look / behavior

    Expected Result

WebGL Effects stay how they were designed at 0-layout position no matter where the layout is scrolled / scrolling to

    Affected Browsers

    • Chrome: (YES)
    • FireFox: (YES)
    • Internet Explorer: (YES)

    Operating System and Service Pack

At work i have an integrated intel graphics card and at home i have a Radeon 290X with latest drivers, it also happens on a friends pc with nvidia graphicscard

    EDIT: Forgot CAPX: [attachment=0:2piyyftf][/attachment:2piyyftf]

  • I noticed this while working on my "huge" project im working on and off since a while.

Notice how the waterfall changes it's color / style completely when the layout scrolls also notice how the warp effect on the pink rectangle changes when the layout scrolls...

I have tried changing all possible project and layout options but i can't get rid of this behavior :/

    Here is my demo .capx:

  • Tinimations

not sure to be honest... go full hd and it should definately work

i'd love to test / play it... drop me a line if you need any testers before going public

  • Try Construct 3

OK... did you upload in HD? 60 FPS is only supported for HD videos for now.

If you upload something in SD it will default to 30 FPS.

    About Klang:

love the style and fluid animations... music (so far) is awesome too

    can't wait to play it

I thought about doing a rhythm game and used a midi of one of my tracks and converted it to MusicXML which can then be used in C2. However it didn't work out that great

  • Tinimations

maybe https://obsproject.com/ is worth a try

Is the action generated on the fly or do you precalculate what should fire before for each track?

  • not really a work in progress... just wanted to test a new recording software

  • thanks, i'll try this out and see how it works for me

  • Hey guys,

i've come to a point in my project where i seriously need to start planning the story and how the "levels" are build up and what happens in them etc.

This is my first big game and i have really no experience on how to handle a larger game with story so far.

I ofcourse have my rough vision in my head but i need to put it down in some structured manner so i can keep track of what to do next.

The engine is mostly done and i add new stuff as needed so i can focus on fleshing out the gameworld etc. now.

How do you guys handle this?

Write it all down on paper? Make a huge word / excel document?

Or is there even a special software for stuff like this?

    Thanks.

  • Pode i'm unfortunately not having much success with your plugin

it only "recognizes" the first gesture for me... no matter how many custom pointlists i add to a type... am i doing something wrong?

    please check the attached .capx

  • It's using R0J0hound paster... mainly the paste object to canvas and draw textured quad functions (makes sense if you think about it)

There is a not so nice distortion when "folding" the quad texture like i do but i guess that's how the plugin works and you don't notice it (much) when the pages turn fast enough, the page "shadows" also distract from it a bit too
