  • BUMP! come on Ashley, or David.. someone. I need help

  • Yeah its so confusing, I know I didnt comment my events, just organized them. But it doesnt seem like any of them would break it at 5... man this is sucks. maybe ashley and friends can take a look at it.

  • Ok so last time I made this post there were 80 views, no replies. How depressing. Anyway maybe I just didn't present it well. In this game there are lots of rooms. In each room is 4 power sources and 1 computer and at least 1 door. when you turn on all the power sources and then activate the computer, it opens the door. Simple! its worked for 4 rooms so far. but upon adding the 5th room the game glitches and only the first two rooms seem to work. Can anyone help me with this? Here is the .cap file.

    Try to activate the first 3 rooms. They should work. Then add another computer, 4 containers, and a door. Change their "ID" values to 5 and try to activate rooms 1-3. the Third room should not work. This is the problem I run into. I cant add any more rooms until I figure out why it does this!!

    Controls: Left/Right Arrow= move left and right, Down/up arrow=prone and getup (also moves elevators up and down), X=jump, C=fire laser (you have to shoot the containers before being able to use them), UP arrow activates things

  • maybe you could make some type of see-saw thing as well? I donno maybe an example would be where if you stand on one end the other end raises and the spikes on that end slide toward the character and you have to jump them or something

  • how about a trap where if u stay on a wall for too long spikes come out, and some windmills where you have to stay inbetween the blade as it rotates

  • well just yesterday he updated to direct x and he got the exe and it didnt work again thats the error he got. is there another new update right now?

  • well I used sprite, the new xaudio 2, text object, mouse and keyboard, is there a way to see a list of the plugins used? then maybe I can be more accurate

  • well your right there, but when my friend tries to run the exe on his comp he gets this error:

    Am I missing something?

  • when you want to test the game on another comp without construct you can export to EXE right? you dont need to add anything else with the EXE do you?

  • Im making a game similar to Zillion for the Sega Master System. I have yet to make anything a challenge but Basically you jump around (press x)shoot the containers (press Z), activate the buttons (Press Up) and then with all four lit up you can activate the computer and go through the door to the next room. You can also use elevators with UP and Down (even when its not visable, easily fixed once I fix this problem) I had it perfectly set up and then all of a sudden I ran into something strange.

    When I tried to place the next batch of 4 containers, a door, and a computer, everything started failing. The first two rooms would work fine but then you couldn't use any more computers.

    Can anyone help me fix this problem?

    P.S. all the lame graphics = made by me with construct animation editor. Music by djpretzel from OCRemix.org. Sounds from sound snap, blah blah everything will be fully credited once I finish this.

  • sorry ashley, I know your bustin balls to get this working. I went to the link and downloaded the DXWebsetup file and when I run it the installer says it is up to date and yet I still cannot run the first sound file placed in resources, I can however hear the other ones, maybe a simple solution would be to include an already placed 0 kb empty music file in the binary.
