  • As for the main subject of the thread: The plugin is now maintained by a third party only (the community), so it is a third party plugin, but a note about that in the plugin description would be nice to have(with a link to the github maybe?).

    I agree, also Construct 2 fails at export still after 2 years. It should be their main focus right now. I can use any other engine, or code my own game which will far surpass Construct 2's speed and performance, but I am a developer and tend to try to avoid programming at all costs. It is something I do, but I just hate reinventing the wheel if other developers are doing it for me.

  • Ashley, Crosswalk is more buggy in my opinion and Phonegap is just really slow (almost 5x slower) on a Samsung Galaxy S3 which is most of the mobile market for the mid-tier smartphones. The speed isn't bad on Crosswalk, but it caused breaks in my project (and Phonegap obviously will never be a solution for me to export to since it is a really slow engine). I just do not see a reason to move to Crosswalk, Ludei's plugin works good the only issue is that it breaks old projects. Lazy Rocket uses Ludei 2.0.2 fine although yes there are bugs, but I managed to work around them. The ads are a little buggy for MoPub networks, but it is likely just user-error on my part since I seen someone have it working just fine.

    I trust Ludei will pull through. I do not like cutting off Android 2.3.6 on my marketshare either. If I have to, I will do the plugin work, such as flipping the IDs to work with old projects. Will branch it out and see how it goes.

  • The plugin for CocconJSAds is way out of date by almost 6 months. I updated it manually, but this is something that should be kept up-to-date, since Ludei is one of the better export options. Although, it does break all people's projects that use it from the older plugin. Maybe you are working on it already? Just pointing it out.

  • New update! We are working on Google Play Games support and iOS update still. We will have a Ladder that links both games together allowing people to fight for the top hiscore - including 5 Achievements.

    We are using Ludei 2.0.2 now along with the latest stable Construct 2. The game should run much smoother now. I spent a long time fixing bugs and enhancing the interface.

  • Ludei works fine for me using the latest stable Construct 2 and 2.0.2 CocoonJS. Make sure you do not minify JS, this causes breaks (especially in the debugger app). Intel XDK is still worse.

    I still have the construct2 errors when exporting or previewing project. Did you find a way to fix this issue?

    Make sure you aren't using the beta version of Construct 2. The Ludei plugin is only compatible with the stable version.

  • Ads do not work anymore for me either and WebView+ doesn't work.

  • IntelRobert, I am looking to switch from Ludei to Intel XDK, do you have a working Construct 2 example or planning to add one soon? I have installed Intel XDK and messed with it quite a bit, but the Android apps for it are lacking and hard for me to make a final decision.

  • Introduction

    We are looking for skilled individuals that are willing to dedicate themselves in getting better and working on astounding projects at an indie level. While we want people who are talented and experienced, something that is so much more important is dedication and passion, so don't hesitate if you have these characteristics. We believe in making games for fun and getting better over making a paycheck since you know only good people make it in the industry or corporations with lots of money to throw.

    Game Concept

    The game we are currently focusing on is called Blasters Online. We made the first engine in C#, but now are moving it over to Construct 2. It will be exclusive to the OUYA and eventually ported to PC, Mac, and Linux. We are making it a couch game as our company name suggests, Couch Knight. It will be a one of a kind type of game that mixes and matches a ton of concepts to make it an innovative experience. For example, we will have Bomberman type of combat with many improvements such as new powerups and abilities including skins, a Pacman type gathering system where you earn points for completing the level in the quickest way possible, and a trinity class system. Some other goodies are included such as local co op, multiplayer online, and a classic/battle mode that will feature many types of mini games. There is a lot more planned as well, this game will not take as long as you think, because our team is used to making MMOs which are a lot harder to make.

    Don't take our word for it, but we have a lot of active projects which are in a long process of completion, but we haven't quit anything we've started - we mostly have just adapted it into a new game or postponed it until more resources are available. We try our best to see things to the end and not give up, it is our defining characteristic as a group of indies. We also like to keep reiterating what we create and make it better - provide long term support for our games even if they aren't a masterpiece. This allows us to keep getting better and provide a better service to our players.

    • One Construct 2 Developer that has a lot of experience in making a clean and organized project, to be easily expanded on and maintained for years. Programming experience earns bonus points and being able to use plugins is a must. Based upon how hard you work on the game with me, will determine how much you get based on game profits.
    • One Game Artist that is able to make art that matches that of Lazy Rocket and Blasters Online. This spot will be paid per project basis.

    If the game is a hit and you get paid for each job you do for the game, you may not claim any rights or percent ownership of the studio it was made under. Any work you do will belong to us 100% after payment is completed, you may use it in your portfolio only, and may not resell or try to sue us over ownership. If you do not want this, you may work on the game for free instead. If you do this, your work will still belong to our company, but it will instead allow you to own part of the company/be a leader.

  • Right, which is why you don't directly compensate them for clicking them. You give them points over time for playing the game, based on the amount of ads they see.

  • The developers need to make money somehow. Clicking ads or buying in-game items is the only way to do it for these type of games. You can either do that or have a one time buy amount.

    Clicking ads is honest if you give them a fair amount of points for doing so, make it so clicking ads gives them a proportional amount of money you make from that click. Not many games do this, I cannot think of one off the top of my head, but not everyone is willing to pay for your game boosts. Boosts are a gross design concept in itself.

  • This was a great start to your blog series on game design. I liked the way you structured your topics and iterated through them with more details. A possible new entry would be determining how much time to spend on projects, before moving on from them or publishing them for consumption.
