  • Both my apps can't pass the certification of WP7.

    Here are the denial reports form win's App Hub:

    I have to say that my apps were already approved by iOS/Googleplay/Amazon:

    iOS

    http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/taipei-finger-beam/id520632844?ls=1&mt=8

    Googleplay

    (They don't allow Taiwan developers publish paid-apps on Googleplay,

    so I gave up to submit my games.)

    Amazon

    So it's apparently that the main problem is on WP7?

    I still have no device to test. <img src="smileys/smiley5.gif" border="0" align="middle">

  • Let me know how you find Windows Phone 7, I'm curious to know how it works compared to Android and iOS.

    I am struggling with the MS Apphub account.

    It's also hard to find a WP7 to borrow in Taiwan.....I'll try.

  • Are you updating an old app? Try deleting the old one if you can, or upload it with a new name/id. I think the PhoneGap version is kept the same as the time you first uploaded it, and WP7 is PhoneGap 1.5+ only.

    Thanks Ashley, you make all things possible.

  • Here is my phonegapbuild C2 apps:

    <img src="http://i1220.photobucket.com/albums/dd443/gonzdevour/2012-4-2709-43-55.jpg" border="0" />

    Both apps are exported form C2 r87,

    I am not sure what happened or how to fix the failed one.

    Anyone knows how to do?

  • That's really amazing!!!!

  • That's amazing! m(_     _)m

  • They told me to post my question on Appmobi forum,

    let's wait and see.

  • The sound is working in the appmobi xdk but not in the device...anyone with the same problem?Tks.

    I got same problem.

    Soundless performance even worse then PhonegapBuild's high audio latency........

    Appmobi people are kind. I am trying to contact them.

    (They replied me more than 10 emails for app building problems......)

    Oh, it's March post......

    If you've already fixed it, may I ask how to do?

  • My vote for "Better monetisation options",

    but I didn't mean that I want many other export options.

    It's aways about money.

    We know the standard license of C2 is $79 now, and let's see GameSalad:

    http://gamesalad.com/creator/pricing

    The difference between free and <font color="red">$299/year</font> are IAP and iAds.

    I am not working with Appmobi yet, but it seems also has IAP and iAds service?

    If C2 can integrate with them, with better feature than Salad, C2 will deserve more than $299/year.

    Appmobi reminds me the Facebook plugin. Yes we can make a Facebook game to show ourselves.But when there are so many single-player or multiplayer paid game there,it's a pity we C2 users have FBplugin but can't get anything back from there.

    I think, I guess C2's future will be on HTML5 mobile web games.

    Maybe we don't really need some options new, but just more deeply integrate with Appmobi and Facebook.

    ========================================

    As for a web game, maybe a medium scale casual game,

    once-loading takes too much time for players to wait,

    they'll just lose patience and go to play other games in 10 sec.

    If I'm not wrong, are the techniques like "Separate Loading" still on the Todo List?

    Yes, it's about money, too.

    ========================================

    I'm not sure if the Socket-related function was complete, how useful could it be.

    If we can only use that to connect something, and still have to coding to death on server,

    I don't think people who vote "Online multi-players" will really want it.

    Agree with Ashley's "later" decision.

    ========================================

    Misc:

    -Audio still make me can't sleep well......but it seems browser's problem. ...hard time.

    -Anchor still very hard to use for UI placing. Recently I use pin to replace anchor.(At least I can live with pin/unpin to a center object).

    And still money. Money is the most important.

    Making games is nothing but fight, fight with the social pressure, fight with your critics.

    If more C2 users have more chances to make money, they will bring more followers back;

    if C2 can only draw users who just for fun, it will be a disposable toy, not a valuable TOOL.

    Sincerely.

  • Culture shock....

  • Try Construct 3

    Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • OK, it works!

    Looks really great! I think I'll buy it.

  • windows XP 32bit

    <img src="http://i1220.photobucket.com/albums/dd443/gonzdevour/2012-3-3001-37-06.jpg" border="0" />

    It showed the dialog above. I've tried 2 files from dropbox and Kickstarter link, same result.

  • C2 is best. If you don't want to study programming for maybe 2 years.

    Unity is a great cross-platform mobile tool; however,

    you need not only coding skills, but lots of money.

    Engine has a price, each function has a price, each exporter has a price,

    and maybe you have to hire a professional 3D artist(no matter you want to build a 2D or 3D game.).

    If you don't want buy its toolkits, you may spend more than 1 month to do what C2 can do in 1 hour.

    I'm not sure Android(too many devices and specs).

    In iphone4S, the FPS of my C2game is faster than Chrome/FireFox without webgl,

    and the same game performed 2FPS on iphone4/ipad1.

    It takes time. They are really doing something.

  • In Statcounter, it shows that IE still takes 35.75% users of the world.

    Asia even worse, IE takes 76.89% in China, 64..46% in Taiwan,

    the most advanced country is Japan, still 54.36%.

    In these 2~3 years, can you make a decision to spend millions of money to make/maintain a mmo, and prepare to tell your investors: "Hey, guess what? more than 40% users can't see our game!!" ?

    As for Flash, mmo was an already done game genre. You can check this old famous game:

    http://www.realmofthemadgod.com/

    By far, HTML5 is just showing it can do something Flash can do in some experimental ways;

    however, the chance of future will never on PC anymore. The real value of Mozilla's BrowserQuest is that it can be played both on PC and none-flash Mobile.

    That's why AIR 3.2 so scary! It will take the superiority of HTML5 away!

    I know I am not an optimist, but maybe one day we'll cry and beg an AIR exporter soon.

    Frankly, if I can make 50,000 USD, I won't care it's 9% or 30% fee.

  • You can also treat it as a "Tactical role-playing game"
