• That is indeed a question for my team too. We'd like to make games that will possibly profit. I like C2 better than Stencyl, but it will be seen witch one is better (I believe GameMaker is out of the question).

It would be nice to have some feedback from the Scirra Team on this matter.

• It would be a nice feature.

• Great decision! Welcome to the C2 owners club

• Waiting for it

• Indeed, this software deserves every cent.

I consider myself lucky, because when I bought C2 it was in early adopters, but if I'd have enough money right now, I'd gladly buy an other license just to support them. And when I'll make some apps that will bring in some cash, then I'll be the happiest user to buy the Buisness License.

In short: C2 is the best, go work for it if you have to, then buy it!

• Welcome here! You'll enjoy working with this gem.

• An interesting route might be a freeium version of Construct 2, where you pay to unlock features like famalies and event limits, but at the lower levels any money you make with your games generates a cut for Scirra; from what I've seen I can't see them running with the idea, but it's one I'd fully support.

IMHO I like a product that gives me all the features when I pay for it. And I love the freedome they offer. If they stick into the created games.. well, it wouldn't be so good. See the opposite example: Stencyl. They have subscription licenses and the free version puts their logo into the game. I don't like subscription offers when I'm about to express my creativity. I want a software that is good and ready for me at all the time.

But, back to the topic, yes I recommend buying C2 too. Looking on it as an investment is a good idea, because when you get some experience making software with it, you can make serious money.

• Thank you.

• I've recently found some HTML5 stores where either users can buy your software or publishers license it: marketJS and Clay.io (not to mention Chrome WebStore).

My question is: Are there any more known sites where I can upload my game for sell (talking about PC platform)?

• Is featuring ads in the game still counts commercial?

• Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
• Hi everyone!

I've been here for a while, but now I'm finally got here to introduce myself .

I'm an university student in Hungary. I started game development about when I was 14 (with GameMaker 4.3). Then I had a .. well we can say a longer break in the game developing (I was mainly interested in webpage designs).

If I remember well, I was using GameMaker 7 when I saw the blog post on GameMakerBlog about Construct. I tested it and played around a little, but it didn't got me. It was later that I gave it an other try, and the opennes and freedom made me love it. I never developed anything serious with GM or Construct, but they made me love the game making process and today I believe I can make my game dreams come true even if I don't know programming.

I first tried Construct 2 in the early times. It's funny, the zooming effect on the layer editor made me love it. Later I bought it as an early adopter (after some more testing).

Since then I tried GameMaker 8.1 and now the Studio, tested Stencyl, but they all missing something that Construct 2 has. I believe (other then the great software) it's the openness and freedome provided to the users (for example: I bought it and I'll have the future updates too, and I can install it as many times as I want on my PC, the Scirra Team is awesome, they are open and friendly to the community). As far as it stays that way, C2 will be always the best

Thank your for reading.

• It's indeed a good game. The only problem I can come up with is the graphics: the composition of these colors are hurting my eyes

• Please talk in english on the forums.

I Google translated your text, and here's my answer:

You can get a license at the Scirra Store: http://www.scirra.com/store

Please note, that in a few weeks, the price of C2 will rise. You may want to buy it before that.

• I had a similar issue with Chrome 19 :)

• Yes, that topic interest me as well. Does C2 is the right choice for bigger projects?

I plan to develop a bigger game, witch I'll want to sell on desktop platform. Will the Awesomium export ability in r100 provide the necessary power?

And it would be nice to see some new performace test blog posts with the other game making software (GameMaker, Stencyl, GameSalad), because it was a while since the last one came out, and every software made developments since. I'm not sure how this works, is it possible for one to overcome C2 or not in that time...
