  • Remote Preview will make a LAN connection if the devices can reach each other. Have you tried this? Is it still significantly slower?

Does it work when you don't have internet connection, only a LAN network?

  • In the name of scientology I will try another test this weekend.

I suggest you start by running tests designed to measure performance. There was a downloadable file for the Bunny Test somewhere on this forum if I remember right. You can also set up custom projects with ever spawning moving objects and compare the results on PC, phone and Xbox. I'd be interested in any results you may post here.

  • While it has some new features, it is very similar to C2 in terms of functionalities. Just as newt said, C3 needs time to grow up, just as C2 did.

  • I suggest you start by reading the manual.

Reading the manual is a good advice, however I think you would be better off starting a project based on tutorials and consulting the manual when needed instead of reading it through first (you won't remember half of it).

  • Could be a bug. It might worth a bug report.

  • If your C2 project uses 3rd party plugins, make sure that you have their C3 version (if available) installed before you import your project.

  • It depends on your needs. If you want an overlaying menu, you need to use layers, otherwise a layout can be feasible as well. As a personal opinion: for in-game menu, I'd go with layers.

  • Thank you, it was a good read.

  • #6: Will Construct 3 come with the ability to use codings?

Still not exactly what you want, but you can also run custom Javascript using the Browser object.

  • Yes, the features of C2 Steam version is equivalent with the version bought from the official site. However since I read some users had issues with the Steam version in the past, I'd encourage you to buy it from the official page.

  • Scirra said in one of their comments before C3 was available that in an unlikely event of Scirra going bankrupt they would release the software completely free and possibly open source.

  • Please provide a .capx or a screenshot of your project/code. That way we could help you more accurately.

  • How much is the C2 discount? Is it just 1 year?

Yes, it's for one year. But if you decide to wait a year or more before buying C3, you'll still be eligible for that discount.

  • We probably do need dedicated documentation on this..

That's a great idea, just please include it in the manual because tutorials and blog posts get lost/forgotten over time.

  • Since C3 is designed to run on mobile devices as well, I don't think Scirra wants to limit the number of devices you can use your license on (as long as only you develop with the personal license), since no one will use a phone as their main development machine.

However, I'd be interested in whether I can use my license on multiple computers at the same time, or not?
