• Whiteclaws - what happened? Did they reject your game? If so was it to do with the snapped-view fiasco that a few of us had to go through as well?

  • Nice! Just bought myself a copy I remember this guy from the physics demo/tutorial you made around March when I first started learning C2!

  • Looks cool! It's a bit like Limbo, and another light based game on the PS3 I can't remember the name of...

  • thehen - thanks!

It must have been - that was the only thing I changed. Fortunately they turned it around pretty quick.

    Hi Folks,

After much stress and panic, my game, Neon Galaxy, has finally made it into the Windows Store just in time for the compo. Thanks to thehen for helping me out late last night as I had a mini-freak out after being rejected for the 2nd time by MS! To their credit, they did do a really quick turnaround after submission 3 so well done MS for that!

Also props to austin for his tireless support and lightning quick responses with clay.io, which has fast become a mandatory service for all of my games!

    So here it is:

This game is my homage to one of my favorite games from the 80's: Robotron. Survive on pure reflexes & adrenaline, facing unending waves of bots to become the grand champion in the clay.io leaderboard!

  • Geez, it sounds like you've had a similar experience. Stuff like the failing you on the description and then having to start the whole process again is just plain stupid.

I've noticed they've gone from pretty relaxed to super retentive since the store launch. Anyway fingers crossed our games get in before the 21st!

  • Sounds awesome! I'm keen

  • I agree with Fimbul that you have to rethink your business model. As much as I want you guys to do well, and aside from the problems Fimbul has pointed out, I don't think that this is financially sustainable for you. It may be better to generate the sprites and then do a one-off sale, on the whole lot or on sets much like graphicriver.net or some other places.

  • Awesome! We can make Angry Birds Space with this

  • I haven't been following closely, but a while back I saw a game "An Irrational Fear of Unicorns" with tons of f-words all over it (It's a really good game tho). Not sure if policy means we can do adult stuff anymore.

  • For me personally, less sets which have more in them will be much more useful. It's reasonably easy to find sprites around the place for free, but they're always partially done.

Kickstarter is actually a good option - Eldon Harris made this Indie Games Builder Bundle, and was able to raise way more than he asked for. I think your assets look better as well. This would be a good way to test the market and see what interest is there before you expend too much effort as well.

If that's not an option for you in my opinion $29 is not at all expensive. If you can make complete sprite sets then I'll be one of your first customers.

  • What did they fail you on? They failed me twice because of some nitpicky snap view things, which they didn't care about last time.
