    Any update on this?

Unfortunately, the situation is unchanged, no news. Even if the official plugin integration was to arrive now in beta, it would take weeks to get it into a stable release.

  • The situation is the same insofar as it's still a HTML5 engine, the exports are still wraps. If a device performed badly 2 years ago, it will do so now. And chrome-blacklisted video cards from 2014 won't have improved.

On current gear things will run better, of course. Still, you will have a hard time matching gamemaker's output performance. On some target devices it won't be possible.

You can test the performance (for the most part) with the free version. Using chrome on desktop and mobiles, you get an (almost) 1:1 preview of the final performance, because most wrappers are just that - chrome neatly packed.

  • Regarding 2: you don't even need to make it portable with a USB stick (even though there are scenarios where this is the right way to do it, for example when taking it to a school or university PC), you are allowed to install it on multiple PCs (for example your desktop and your 2 laptops) as long as you are the only person using it.

Btw., out of context: I have not had the chance to play it at a convention or anything, but your game looks quite awesome.

  • Let's take a step back and look at this for a second..

    Player.X - Windforce * dt

Let's assume the windforce is supposed to be linear, 100 pixels per second. With the above expression this should give the player an identical pixel per second speed, independent of the refresh rate. With higher screen Hz you have more, shorter steps, but the movement (per second, not per frame!) should be the same. Delta time *is* the refresh-rate tracker.

Unless I have totally not understood the problem or I'm missing something.

  • I'm unsure why you need the 60* in the first place.. dt in itself should eliminate the need?

  • Several, for example this one:

  • Since they (probably) don't have any clue what an IVS is.. how about "Denmark/danish IVS (private limited company)"?

  • If you mean by "reference": make prototypes quickly and then re-implement them with other engines: yes, that works well. I do that with Unity.

If you mean some sort of automated conversion: nope.

You also have to be super careful to not try and re-implement stuff the same way as in the other engine, that never works. You have to respect each product's philosophy and optimization procedures.

  • If you ever find out what it was, it would be cool to know.

We've had some problems in the past, and players might run into the same thing.

  • Which controller or controller/driver combination do you use?

  • Right now it's neither stable, nor deployment-ready, and greenworks is busted. So.... those arguments would be valid, if 0.14.0 was any of this, which it.. isn't

  • Ignatius is looking quite awesome, I had missed it.
