  • Don't know did I missed something or not, but why not to use just standart 'set fullscreen' action?

  • I'm pretty sure this is a collision mask problem, as I'm not using two separate objects for the character (i.e. hitbox with platform movement and dummy for animation). Any advice? :/

Do you know, you can edit collision mask in image editor? There's button on top panel

  • AFAIK, HTML5 doesn't allow you to choose point or linear sampling for your game, it depends on browser. It's may be a critical factor for game developers who working with pixel art style. In fact, most of 2D games are made with pixel art, even if they doesn't look pixeleted, and so, no one wants to get blured graphics in their game

  • Haha, I'm clean since season was over

  • Try Construct 3

  • That's my biggest complaint. I hate being the devil's advocate, but it's a bit unfair to say that. Why are you pointing to the free edition as an alternative? It isn't. Instead of a free edition it simply is a demo version, nothing more. 4 layers and 100 events, what bigger project should follow from that?

Don't get me wrong, I think it is alright to sell a product and offer a demo version, so that people can convince themselves of it. But to label it a "free" edition, and pretend people could do their projects with it, is close to a lie. I don't like people being dishonest. And you don't need to be, it would be accepted and understood, if you'd call it, what it is: a demo version :)

I second this. I felt cheated with this '100 events limit' since previously they said it will be without any critical restrictions.

f their economy doesn't sell bread for 2$

OMG, in my country bread costs about 0.5$ or less.

    Seriously, 2$?

  • I guess, he mean ASCII graphics

  • What's funny, it was right after this video appeared:

  • 1) Place hotspot of 'healthbar' to left

    2) Well, there are a lot of way to do this. Try PV + Flash (or Hit animation if you'll get how to use it):

    Birry overlaps Bearattack:

    Every 10 sec:

    'BHealth' greater than 0:

    PV 'hit' equal 0:

    • Flash for 1000 msc
    • Set 'hit' to 1
    • 'Health' - 10

And event to set 'hit' to 0 when flasing is finished

    On Flash Finished:

    -Set 'hit' to 0

To use animation without tag, as far as I know, you have to not use tags on any animations at all. Set animations manualy via events

  • Look what I've found:

What's funny, it's both related to Python.

And they have Construct 2 too! -

  • I just checked it with my current project - yep, empty layout runs at almost same speed as playable layout (slower than empty cap)

  • Speaking of "levels", do you mean Contruct's layouts, or your external levels, which loads into single "playground" layout with a number of included sheets and events? If so, try load every single level in separate layout and include events only specifed for this level.

I mean, if you load, for exemple, "level 1-1", and layout which load that level has included sheets like "level 1 Boss", "level 2-2", etc., it probably will use extra CPU even if it doesn't perform any actions (well, as I think)

  • There's very usefull event: "overlapping at offset", it works just like 'sensor' you've tried create

Sure, but maybe later, it's not polished yet and I'm busy with current project for local competition

  • DtrQ totally fits the stereotype and is pissed because of that.

    :D

    Not really :)
