Here is an example of what im talking about.the sprite needs to rotate to a certain degree and when it reaches that certain degree then it it must move left or right.

  • A more comprehensive sprite rotation tutorial would be welcome.

  • Here's my problem.I want to use the 8 direction behavior for a particular sprite. But i also want that sprite to rotate when i press left.I dont want the sprite to just flip to the left,I want it to rotate to the left and when it faces left then it must start to move. The same when i turn right ,up and down. The sprite has to rotate in one place until it faces left, right up or down.

How do i do this with Construct??.

  • Thank you Caspis. As for your questions : 1.The controls will vary on the type of ground loose gravel and ice will have the buggy skid more, asphalt will be more forgiving.

2.Yes i toned down the aliens a bit there where over 100 if them at the beginning but i toned it down for the demo.

Im still changing the graphics by using my own 3d models etc...Plus the stages will have more of an organic look to it once im done with all the drawing ,modelling stuff. The Aliens will also look and act very differently as opposed to the demo.

But im taking my time with this game.Drawing creatures and tanks etc...isn't easy. And Creating 3d models to render them to 2d sprites is definitely not a walk in the park either.Once im done with everything i will post some screenshots and some Concept art pics of the game.

  • : Great idea .Yes dynamic lights will look very nice indeed.Still have tons of stuff to do with this little demo (change gfx ,sounds, music, add lights to buggy,More aliens, more explosions

    )The lists are endless .

Made this demo a few months ago.I will change the sprites/music/sfx once i get started on this project again.I used this game as a test for another project that i was working on.The demo is quite large as i used HQ Textures and Music.Note: The game takes a while to load on slow pc's.

Recommended : 2.8 Ghz Dual core ,1GB ram , 128 Meg GFX card.

Controls : Arrows to move , Use the mouse to rotate the turret , Left mouse button press :Shoot

  • 10/10 as usual.You should go pro.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Attan Yes i know the movement needs some serious work and the bullets moves slowly ,But this was still wip stages.I have shifted the project over to XNA .I love to code and i can do a lot more with coding.

In the XNA version i have multiple bullets aka bullet hell ,Better upgrades ,Fully rendered cut scenes and best of all i can change from 2d to a 3d camera view very easily.I wanted the ship to rotate 180 degrees when i pressed the A button but i just cannot figure out how to do this in Construct.

I will still continue with the Construct version at a later date. yeah just wanted to see what it would look like with the CS does art intro.I did a better intro on the XNA version which shows your ship on the grid in 3d (almost like Tron) and then the ship collides into the Dravenx logo which then shows the game's title screen.

  • Well i disassembled my xbox360 and placed it into a modded pc towercase. It's got liquid cooling with extra fans which runs from an external power supply. Now it runs perfectly cool.I also decided to replace those dreaded xclamps which seemed to warp the mobo.

A big thank you to my friend who helped me with this.He had his xbox360 this way since 2006.Hopefully i can play xbox360 games again for some time.Well if it dies again then it will be no big loss because i love the PS3 more than xbox 360.

  • [quote:17iupp8a]It's weird... it's like they just need time to rest or something. It will eventually s**t itself again though, so don't get too attached.

    Yes

Ashley : Believe me , it's well ventilated. It's in an air conditioned room and the room temp's always at a low 19 degrees celcius.

One thing i noticed though,When i keep it on standby then i get the dreaded RROD ,But when i unplug the powerbrick and leave it off for 15mins then it works without any problems.Just before the RROD shows the 2 fans at the back sounds wierd it goes fast then slow then fast and slow and then i get the RROD.Maybe the fans aren't getting enough juice so then the poor old xbox360 stresses and throws out the RROD.

It's still working like a charm though.Been playing for 3 hours without any freezing or rrod's.

  • Mine was constantly giving me an RROD.So i plugged it out,put it in it's box and now months later when i switched it on it worked .

Had my ps3 for 3 years now and had no problems with it so far (touch wood). One of my friends made a mod out of his old xbox360 (bought 2006) by putting it in a standard pc tower box with liquid cooling and his xbox360 is still running with no freezes rrods etc...

  • After leaving my old xbox 360 lying around in it's box (RROD, waranty expired) i thought i had to hook it up to my lcd screen and see if the Red rings of death was still there. To my surprise it worked!! wtf how is this even possible??.It still gives the occasional RROD but when i switch it off and on again then it works again.I played for 2 solid hours and not once did it freeze up on me.

Has anyone experienced this?.If a component fails then it usually stays broken. The new slim xbox 360 looks more stable than the old one though.Maybe i will buy a new one later on.Does anyone have the new slim xbox360 and is it more reliable than the old model??.

  • [quote:2glyr12x]Here is an example that Deadeye made a thousand years ago,
