  • Hello,

Please have a swing at my latest beta version of the game. It's on New Grounds and will require you have an account to play it for High Scores and trophies etc.

Premise: pixel-based, old-school, 2-D side scroller platformer with a twist!

Backstory: You are the best golfer in the world, but the devil doesn't agree. You need to prove it by playing his own personal golf course... in Hell!

There are currently 4 full holes to play in the game as I work my way to the common 18 holes on a course.

    Thanks

  • Hello, I am interested in making a super simple "crosshair". I think it would help my poor eyesight. It there any tutorial or sample const2 example/plugin?

    Thanks!

  • Holy crap on a stick, thanks Asmodean! I was not thinking here. I thought I'd organize my code better than I have in the past and made a separate event sheet just for audio and used "functions" in the main event sheet to trigger those sounds. The OnFunction trigger doesn't allow another trigger (OnCollison) to be nested within it, so there was no OnCollision option, just overlaps. I spent way too long trying to find a way to use overlaps when I should have just replaced the function with the collision trigger. Aww, the beauty of tunnel vision... It's working perfectly now. Thanks for the quick response!

  • I need a "bounce" sound to play every time a sprite (with physics behavior) bounces off surrounding environment.

The problem is the surrounding environment is a tileset, and I can't seem to figure out how to code it without doing a bunch of check tile ID code etc.

Is there a simpler way to code it?

    Thanks

  • Hello:

I have a new version of my game to upload to the Scirra Arcade, but I keep getting access denied type errors stopping me from doing so. I tried unchecking the "Available to Play" option, thinking it may work if it was offline, but no go. Any thoughts on what the problem might be? I'd hate to have to start a new arcade of the game and lose its plays, comments etc., but if that's the workaround, I'll do it.

  • We're having server issues, we're not disabling it and enabling it all day for fun like you think we are. We're investigating.

I understand server issues and investigating, Tom. If you're migrating wordpress within cloudshare, it is not easy, and without question, not fun. Hopefully, you'll find some stabilization.

  • Hello,

I almost lost hope trying to find my precious (c2 tutorials) as 404s were popping up like daisies in Google searches. The tutorials are accessible still, but (and perhaps this was just on my end) there were long delays in page access. Could be Chrome cache files not clicking or something, but I fired up IE and can confirm the pages can be accessed. Hope this helps anyone looking

Update I: I was mistaken. The Scirra site was only momentarily accessible and the 404 is back. Why are you guys doing that? Just leave the tutorials and other crucial information up until it has been fully migrated to the new site. You still have to implement this site's search function according to the request of patience, so locking all the doors on your old site leaves many active users lost in limbo

Update II: Ok, so there is this I found nesting in a weird spot, but it is of no help when all the old links are inaccessible to us on this new site. Again, probably best to just redirect us until those links can be migrated correctly

  • Whoa... everything smells like fresh paint and drywall spackle in this here domain! Wondering if there will be a Construct Arcade for us to upload to...?

  • Haha, yes - sorry MarioShotFirst, I know you had one of the scores up on the old leaderboard that I had to redact.

  • Love everything about this, concept, style, controls, it all feels really good to play and enjoy. I didn't want to pay the Reaper at the end of the demo, but he took money anyway .

    Excellent job!

Thanks ReillyRobbie Glad you liked it. Now that all the foundation is laid, I'm excited to get back to the fun part, designing further levels

Great! I especially like how the devils stands there next to the hole and laughs at you

I think the hints about the water and slowmotion roots are a little overkill. If you want to keep them it might work to make something in-game, like a sign or another golf player warning the player.

Good point on how much is too much tutoring in game. haha. Thanks, Risto

  • Oh, and the inspiration came from wanting to do a pixel art based platformer, but with some twist. The golf angle came to me after hearing the song, "Devil Went Down to Georgia" on the radio. I think there's lots of room for funny storyline developments and diverse platform designs. Maybe some RPG elements with the golfer meeting banished souls, talking with them, answering riddles or the such.
