Davioware's Forum Posts

  • I can't seem to find it anymore..

  • I agree that they should either be allowed only in a separate "your ghost shooter mod" sub forum, or be only allowed as .caps in the uploads section. Make a rules sticky which mentions that anything created from ghost shooter is not allowed in the main "your creations" section (as it is for original works only), but in the sub forum.

  • You can't copy/paste either, and don't try, it causes crashes and/or bugs.

  • groups get big too.

  • [quote:35j0nwej]hey im Kevin, but ppl know me as Quazi around here and a few other places.

ive been playing games ever since i can remember, I started on the SNES, playing way too many Mario games, and lots of mortal kombat 3 (as a 4 year old lol).

i think i first started making games around the age of 6-7, using power point. me and my bro had made a maze game, where you need to select the right door out of 3 to progress over and over again. then for a few years i perfected game making on powerpoint, and i was able to implement AI and action sequences using nothing but hyper links and automatic slide advancing.

i later found KnP, made a few mario clones, and moved onto TGF.

i completed 2 games on that over like 3 years, found a hacked version of mmf2, it was meh, and then found construct about 2 months later.

ever since then ive been using it and never looked back.

Replace Kevin with David, and Quazi with Davioware. We share the exact same childhood, as we were doing most of these things together all the time. I'm 18 btw.

  • My highscore is 8000 for now .

  • Thanks, tomorrow i'll probably whip in a little high score feature and polish the game up a bit. Maybe i'll add a few more levels if enough people enjoy it.

  • Try Construct 3

  • Ive seen this when researching about SPH fluids.

  • I decided that i'd give 99.3 a spin. Yesterday i downloaded it and whipped up this little bullet hell shmup for the sake of testing if 99.3 worked well. Music, graphics, and code by Davioware (me! )

The screenshots look a bit weird, graphics can only be seen well in game.

  • 2d games = instanced terrain chunks or tiles <ALWAYS USE EITHER OR BOTH.

    1. don't make a big terrain sprite

    2. don't do 1

    3. 1 and 2

  • wow, this is a really great mesh editor. I'm definitely keeping this for later use. The ability to rotate is just awesomely awesome. Might i suggest a feature to make it uber useful? Implement some rotation helpers which allow you to move the view in fixed steps (ie. 5 degrees per click), on a chosen fixed axis of rotation. This would allow for precise editing. Once this is added, it will be the ultimate mesh editor.

  • I'm sorry but the RTS pathfinding isn't pixel perfect. If you want more precision, make the path finding grid smaller (best results are with 10x10, but it's more cpu intensive).

  • Sorry Ash, I had no clue what caused them. I guess i should have posted them anyways, even if i had only a vague recollection of steps which caused it. Next one will go on the tracker for sure.
