    The problem:

    In my game after a player has used all of his ammunition. I want to show a small prombt that his ammo is empty. So i implemented this:

    While standing still it works as intended.

    But when it is triggered while moving it looks like this:

    Standing still it uses the image point 2 as desired, during movement it uses the origin point it seems. Can't wrap my head around it. I apprechiate every piece of advice.

    I need an editor for a specific wargame called Mayhem. It is an very open system with a lot of possibilities. More than Excel can handle I fear.

    So what do i need:

    • Creating Units with profiles, equipment, traits and there respektive points costs.
    • Creating Templates from these Units
    • Use the templates to build an Army
    • There're rules and conditions that interakt with each other.
    • a good way to expand the existing building blocks with future add ons
    • save and load armys/templates
    • printable army list

    I have no real coding expirience. I would like it multiplatform or for the web.

    Should i learn to code or is it possible?

    Edit:

    It is nor unlike a rpg system. But it will need lots of text and lists. I am sure it can be done. But I don#t know where to start or if I should use a different tool.

  • Working on a game with my wife. It's called "Coffee to go" and its a puzzle platformer. All art and game design is made by my wife. I am just the logic clicker.

  • For bigger projects i use a wiki. For smaller ones just a google doc and some excel sheets for tracking all the assets and animations.

  • Here are some more doodles and stuff.

    A simple asset and controls test. It will be a non construct game.

    Consrols:

    W = accerllerating

    S = deaccellerating

    A/D = turning

    away - a spacegame

    Another fast asset test. Going through the red walls costs ecktoplasma. you have 3 on start up. Touching the ugly thing of an urn restarts the layout.

  • Some thoughts after trying the game.

    why a shoot button? there is no skill of meaning invold in giving the palyer controll over it. just let shoot automatically. The only thing the player does is evade and giving him/her some controles that give no benefit at all is just distracting.

    i would like to see some sort of shild- that charges with your firepower and gives you the ability to survive one hit. that strenghtens the meaning of firepower because richt now it has no real meaning if i get hit the game is over.

    So if i get hit - firepower is reduced to zero but im still alive. and i need to charge it at least back to 50% to survive another hit.

    maybe an small animation or effect when the pattern changes would help. just as a hint to the player that it changes not how.

    when reaching a checkpoint give me a second before starting the game again. because the strong wihte blink is confusing. it took me some secondes to get what was happening and i died the same instant.

    i really like the game so fare and there is a lot of possibilities for evolving it further. hope you continue with your work.

  • Good start. I would suggest some changes. I would make the collider of the enemy bullets smaller. actually make them smaller that the image of the bullets.

    Increase the acceleration of the player ship. A more responsive controll will make it more fun and give the player better chance to use his skill.

    This thread is dedicated to all the gamelike things that come to life through me learning construct 2. A lot of them are unfiinished or were never intended to be a completed games. I also want to post work in progres or ideas of bigger games here.

    One of the first things i build in construct. All assets are made by my fiance. There is a more recent verison of the game. I will upload it later.

    • moods and sketches -

    One of my goals is to make an ONI 2D prototype. But it is a way to complex game for someone with nearly no knowledge about construct 2. So i made this menu first. Just because i wanted to do something.

  • Hey this is an amazng game so far.

    quick and dirty toughts:

    • i would like air dash
    • better walking animation - speed is to high for the legmovement
    • if i hit attack and when i am pressing (still attaking) the other arrowkey its still attaking in the first direction

    it would make it easier if the direktion of the arrows would overwrite the attack oritaion. makes that even sense

    -make easier jumps and exploration in the beginning

    -jumping and attacking feels great.

    • i like the art direction so far.

    -do more with lighting in the environment dark caves sunbeams through the woods etc etc

    • reminds me of dustforce and thats awesome

    sorry for all the mistakes but im dead tired.
