  • There's a meter at the bottom to determine power, if you go into the red it kills it, you can grab the tap button to move it wherever you like.

  • Hi everyone,

We have just finished our first production at Mylestone Studios, and we're proud to present Finger Lickin Chicken Kickin! Tap to build up speed, press to build power, and watch that chicken fly!!! Get the best record out of all your friends!!!!

As I am unable to post the link, simply search in googleplay for "Finger Lickin Chicken Kickin"

    Made with Construct 2

    Thanks!

  • By design, do you mean game design, or event design, event design is more programmer oriented, while game design is documented.

If game design, I can help.

  • I would also like to add 1 piece to this incredibly informative thread.

You are allowed to reference copywritted works, as long as it doesn't imply your product was produced by the company of said copywritten works, or doesn't defame the product/company you are referencing. You are obviously not allowed to use assets from other games, not build your game around the characters/story of a copywritten work, as outlined here.

unless this has been updated, I believe it to apply to all functional creations, including but not limited to games.

  • I have a project or 2 that this style of graphics would be good for, I'll let you know once those projects begin production.

  • Thanks for the input, we are currently building a video, we have the basic functionality done, I would say we are in Early Alpha stages at the moment. My initial marketing will consist of youtube video('s) along with a word of mouth via social media's like Facebook, Twitter, etc.

We will be releasing information soon on the project, since it's a small simple game, we should have something to show sooner then later.

  • Currently Contracted someone, I believe this person will be a good fit for this project. Should we decide to part ways before completion of the project, I will be re-posting here.

Thank you for those who were interested.

  • maybe I'll hire someone to create a plugin specifically for this with the variables I require to achieve realistic AI driving using a similar solution to pathfinding that handles car waypoints.

Thanks for directing me to your plugins tho, once I learn this program a little better I'm sure I will find many uses for them.

    Thanks!!

I agree it is wise to have several projects over a period of time, and I actually have several projects in mind, all of which are currently too expansive for my current knowledge of the software.

The title I'm planning on building/having built for my first game will be a really epic game, mind numbing phone game that people enjoy to pass time.

I'll give a single hint to it's popularity, one game had something extremely similar as a sub game, and from my understanding/personal experience, much time was spent for many people on this sub game.

I would love to PM to get things going, but I unfortunately have not achieved 500 rep just yet. Other means will have to be utilized until that time.

EDIT: Also, the Name of the title is something people will find themselves saying over and over again, because it's really fun to say.

  • I have a very specific game in mind, is extremely simple, along the lines of flappy bird in terms of simplicity, but obviously different.

I wish to receive the .capx.

Oriented around mobile gaming, with Ad revenue support.

Additional Features include in app purchases.

Much more detail provided upon further discussions.

Graphics and Game Logic Required for this project.

    Leaderboard Required for High Score.

Very unique and original idea, Searches return Zero results of it's kind (similar games exist, but this one has a twist).

My goal here is to create a game to publish, so I can quit my day job and focus entirely on learning game development logic, specifically for event based systems, possibly even some graphical aspects.

I'm also willing to negotiate other payment types such as shared revenue if that's something you're looking for instead of straight contract work.

Publishing of the game will be made by myself in the instance of shared revenue, as I wish to build a reputation under my own business starting with this project.

    Thank you for your consideration.

So there's no real way to make AI vehicles then without using LJPotential?

This is why I was asking about pathfind + Car Physics, find the path via pathfinding, and use car physics, it's ok if a car turns 90 degrees, but I want it to use the car physics to achieve it, potentially smashing into buildings/other vehicles as it slides getting it's drift recovery.

  • Ahh, So if I use it on 1-2 objects (competitors in a race) to navigate through bullet behavior solid traffic, and buildings, would bog down too much? Or simply not be suitable for finding alternate paths on the fly.

Is there an improved pathfinding system that would suit the on the fly re-calculation of navigation points, or am I simply going about this the wrong way.

Maybe what I could do is create pre-located instances that spawn during certain missions, was kinda hoping for the whole random destination thing.

  • rexrainbow

For the pathfinding, I would be using every tick to re-calculate the path to take, and destroying and replacing the attracting points, because it will use pathfinder logic, it will avoid other cars and buildings set as solid by default, but will still potentially sideswipe other vehicles, causing damage to the car using collision depending on friction, drift recovery, steer speed, etc causing damage to the car.

The basic logic on how I'm going to do it is there, I just need to figure out how to use these custom plugins/behaviors properly.

Edit: I'm gonna leave my mistake and simply point out that I'm from the department of redundancy department. LOL

  • rexrainbow

This looks really complicated, I love being new at stuff, gonna take me a minute to figure all this out, I'm unsure exactly what behaviors you used on the vehicles, I assume LJPotential, Car, and Solid, but they don't appear in the actual behavior editor, maybe it's an advanced thing I'm unfamiliar with lol.

As for the waypoints, I found the template that inserts arrows into the pathfinders path that the player auto follows, I could use that same logic to create waypoints that follow the logic used by your waypoints system. The mapping for my first attempt will be mainly grid based, so north/east/south/west direction.

I'm going to be building the main traffic flow on events, and using your system for special events like racing and such.

I think I have to take a step back and figure out the objects you've used so I can emulate this, unless I can reverse engineer this I'm learning nothing, even the layout of your objects seems more advanced then I'm even aware of.

Either way, I believe this is perfect for my project with some workaround to create instances of the waypoints along a pathfinders path. Thanks for your assistance

  • rexrainbow

I'll check that out, see if I can't rig it up, I'm sure I seen an example of finding pathways and placing arrows, I could do the exact same for the waypoints, perfect, based on what I've seen of your contributions, as always, thank you. You just opened my eyes to a whole new level of development for my project
