    Hey all!

So here's a project I've worked on slowly in my spare time that I wanna keep track of better and get good feedback! It's called "In the Grey" and I'll have a chance to show it off at an even later this month so I wanna get it put together and feeling more like a game by then.

Here's a link to an earlier build of the game:

More has been added, and here's my list of things to get added:

As you can see I've worked through some of it already and I have a friend making the music for me. I'll try to keep this updated every weekday with my progress including screen shots, gifs, and playable demos.

Let me know what you think so far, I'll get a demo up on Friday of all my progress. For now, here's some screenshots of changed things:

  • Looks really nice, I like the lighting effects. How did you get that effect?

  • roguecore Will do! Thank you

  • jobel Wow thank you for the great comment! I really like the idea of them being foremen in the brain. I'll check out SUPER SUPER SUPER too. Xbox controls are also gonna be added. Thanks again!

  • bclikesyou - yeah I realised that after playing it, made my comments after just seeing the gifs, images, and videos. Was awesome!

  • ryanrybot - I've changed the controls already, just not in this version. Thanks for the comments!

bclikesyou - Thanks man! I certainly will!

I think that is on purpose... it totally gives you that learning-to-play-something-on-piano-with-hands-doing-2-different-things feeling. but further than that.. it really screws with your brain..

it just needs some sort of story and music to sink you into that world... and sound effects..

It was on purpose at first, for the reasons you mentioned basically. However I have had this comment a couple of times now so I've already swapped them. Music and Sounds are something I wanna work on too, I've got a friend who is a great musician.

I hadn't put much thought into story, was treating it more like N Game with just levels I guess. Any ideas?

  • Mind if I ask how you did level 1s chunks/pages? Are they different layouts or do you have each section in the layout and just move/hide/create them when needed?

  • Wow, this is very cool. Keep it up!

  • A nice little puzzle platformer I've been working on. Arrow keys and WAD to control the guys.

Let me know if you think it's worth continuing, and if so feel free to suggest ideas going forward

  • broknecho Wow that's amazing, thank you! I'll play around with it tomorrow and see what I can get going!

  • Anyone?

  • I want to make a co-op game where 1 player controls a character through a level and the other, preferably on a tablet, guides the player through the level.

Player 1 has a limit range of vision : http://i.imgur.com/HHCU1NO.jpg

Player 2 can see the whole level including enemies, cameras, traps etc.... and is able to direct the player through the level: http://i.imgur.com/x1XAXdO.jpg

    (Sorry for the crappy art)

Would this be possible? Both players would need the same levels, however 1 person would be given a different view of the level. Also what would be the best way to publish this? I know with HTML5 cross platform would work, would I just have it be in the menu screen, one person selects PC player, the other selects tablet?

Thanks a lot guys, if I've not made sense please ask questions.

  • I've just thought, how would I make an object hit another and send the other object bouncing away, like balls on a pool table. Would it be something with physics?

Thank you so much! This looks like a great start point for me. I really appreciate it!
