    Heh. Heheheheh.

  • How does Google rank a search term?

Is there anything that we can do to make Construct more relevant?

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • I tried out Gamemaker and there were some things that I liked, but my dislikes outweighed them.

I did a search for game making programs and I found Stencyl, which seemed like it had some promise, but their "stealth mode" pretty much killed any enthusiasm that I had for the project.

So I did some more google searches for game making programs and eventually I found Construct. Honestly, I didn't have much hope for it since I had never heard anyone in any forums even mention it before.

I was very pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to get started with the learning process, and the fact that it had hardware acceleration from the beginning was a huge plus.

I was really sold with Construct's awesome community of knowledgeable and helpful (and funny) people, though.

I've been making slow progress with my first serious attempt at a game (inspired by Puzzle Bobble) but hopefully I'll have it ready by next month. I really want to contribute something worthwhile to the site.

  • Good work, Instant!

It has a dark, sort of techno vibe to it. Did you compose it with a piano?

(ummm... what's up with "fag man"? )

  • I, um... er... was killed?

    You should be honored!

    Errr.... right?

Not a bad game for 1 hour, even if it focuses on our Ashley being killed.

  • I counter with Magic Missiles!

    That is really, REALLY awesome.

(of course, everyone knows that magic missiles NEVER miss )

  • Actually it might be kind of cool if the treads can break off if you take heavy damage. You know, limiting your mobility and all.

  • (edit)

...suddenly the tank treads work just fine.

Could you please post the controls?

It might just be that my computer doesn't work well (WinXP), but when you move around for more than a few seconds the tank's treads become detached and you can only move a short distance.

I can't figure out how to shoot, either...

  • I've heard of "Red Dwarf", the BBC television show before, but I've never actually seen any of it until now.

    Wow.

It's so cheaply produced but so very, very awesome at the same time. I should... nay, I must see more of this.

"There will be time for explanations later... and hopefully, some sex."

  • It looks a little strange when you walk in one direction and aim behind you...

The movement and jumping feels right, though.

Oh, and Metal Slug > Contra.

Yeah, I said it. Anyone wanna fight?!

  • Eeeeeeee!!!

    (girlish squeal of delight)

I guess it isn't a big surprise but a lot of old DOS games are now freeware. I did a quick search and not only does this site have "Pharaoh's Tomb", but it also has "Chopper Commando" (the game that I mentioned in my last post) and "Round 42"!!!

    Nostalgia overload...!!!

Can't wait for for your update to Pharaoh's Tomb!

  • I remember Pharaoh's Tomb! I played it on my old Tandy 1000.

A friend of my dad gave me a floppy with Pharaoh's Tomb and a helicopter game, which I think was just called "Chopper". I always thought it was funny that whenever you blew up a building it said "Building was destoryed"...

Looking forward to the release of your game.

  • It almost seems to get easier as the rocks become bigger... is it always the same number of rocks in each wave, regardless of their size?

    (oh, 1065 points so far...)

  • Great name. (like the spritework, too)

I think it might look better if you made the cursor invisible, though.
