• Dell Latitude D510 - 1 fps when fog of war is on, maximum of 10 fps with everything off, 8 fps on average when moving units. You said older hardware yourself... : P

  • Better, noticeably so.

  • Also, don't you have to set the audio object to global in the layout editor?

  • bump. anyone? The amount of results posted is ridiculous - you guys really should participate to see what the performance of C2 is on differenct setups / how it compares to CC (optional).

  • For what it is, it is pretty good.

  • The UI is amazing, fits the theme well.

The art style is consistent and of high quality.

You got me all interested in this project of yours... :D

  • The concept is simple enough, yet well executed - you jump by tapping the screen (didn't work initially for some reason) and you have to change the color of the background to the same as the beams you come across, to pass them. No problems here.

The gameplay seems to be without issues, except that i disliked how fast the game starts (literally less than a second before the start animation and running at full speed) and that the player seems to move across the screen slightly (e.g. as if the camera was being moved, as opposed to the whole world around it). This jitteriness makes the game seem less responsive, because it's harder to know exactly where the player is at any given time. Also, the game ends too abruptly, no end game screen, nothing - you're just instantly thrown back into the main menu.

The difficulty itself seems decent, no bugs like gaps that cannot be jumped across so far, the performance is also adequate.

From an artistic viewpoint, however, i dislike the game - it appears that some default Windows font is used for the main menu, which simply looks amateurish, there are no "pressed / mouse over" states for the buttons, there also appears to be a white border around the character sprite, as if it was drawn on a white background and then just pasted, without taking the care to fix the edges. Also, there are no jump animations for the character, it sort of seems that he is running even when in air.

    My 0.02$.

  • Confirmed, link dead.

  • My experience:

Firefox - sound only plays sometimes, often seems to skip / sounds distorted, framerates generally stable, with very small stutters at the moment the sounds start playing, but fine afterwards.

Chrome - framerates marginally lower than firefox, however sounds always play, don't sound distorted (but skip for short periods of time), playing them indeed causes a persistent drop in the framerate.

However i don't think that this is a problem in Scirra's part, but rather the RAM consumption / general performance of Chrome, therefore this should not be classified as a bug in C2.

    Doesn't work for some reason...

  • My bad, couldn't read the dialogue fast enough to understand what it was supposed to do. Also, taking down the dropbox files...

  • > you can use touch.x("Layername") (or mouse.X("Layername")) which grabs the X according to the layers scale and or paralax.

    > ;)

Thank you so much!! I had a MASSIVE bug and i didn't know why my mouse controls where gradually more inaccurate as the camera zoomed out / as the layer was scaling. I was using just "Mouse.X, Mouse.Y", and know with your suggestion I use "Mouse.X(1), Mouse.Y(1)" and it works like a dream!! Now accurate mouse controls camera zoomed in or out.

    Thanks a million!!

I tried that, but it didn't work for me. Then again, i was using two coordinate systems for positioning the objects (the default in C2 and also my own for scaling and positioning the objects relative to the default layout size. don't ask me why, it just was faster in regards to positioning the objects in the editor. or something...)

  • Not sure if the UI is supposed to shake, but if you want to prevent this you should put those elements on another layer with a parallax setting of "0,0".

The game kind of doesn't contain any drift at all, seems to be based on one of the default behaviours, the car has perfect traction all the time. Also, the art style looks cheap.

Furthermore, the view distance is too low for my tastes and the fact that the timer runs in the menu makes the game seem broken.

Despite this, i kind of like it - although not exactly a great game, the music seems very relaxed and the game itself is simple and short enough. Perhaps it's just that this reminds me of times when most of the flash portals had simpler content and a bit less eyecandy, which strains the eyes and tires you out eventually... :/

Also, i didn't have any problems with running it (latest stable build of Firefox), the framerate was stable all the way through.

  • Take the following with a grain of salt, we've all seen plenty (*10(*10)) clones of that game already, this is just me being grumpy me.

1.) game is flawed - collisions with the walls don't work, the text for the amount of coins is singular, there is a white border around the player sprite, there is no real difficulty to be found in this game [-5]

2.) name contains "doge", yet no actual doges were had, except for the cryptocurrency, but you know what we expected [-10]

3.) the redeeming factor is that there was a nice score popup, however [+1]

4.) the description you gave seems to claim that this game is a "Good way to waste a few minutes of your day". not true, this is lying [-5]

5.) the game is embedded improperly - it is anchored at the right side of the page [-5]

    6.) ad popups [-10]

7.) comic sans (outside of doge context) [-20]

    Total score: -54/10

         Would not play again.
