  • That link IS the manual.

  • It could also be errors from a third-party plugin. But if a blank project doesn't give the error and yours does, then there is something in your project causing it.

  • I use Rex's date plugin: here for this time of stuff. It works great!

  • Try disabling blocks of your events and repeat running it until the error goes away. Once it does, your problem is in that last section.

  • I started a development video series on my game, Courier. Check out some of the magic in the game!

  • Hey, I started a new video series behind the development of Courier (using C2, of course!). It's sort of a different entity than the devlog thread I keep on the forum, so I wanted to keep all of the video features in one location as they're released.

Don't forget you can help the project out by becoming a patron in the link below!

    Systems, systems! Everywhere!

My fifth video feature is a feature about Lorin, your classmate and friend. There's also a special bonus look into the production of the second boss.

Video feature four details some of the texturing techniques I've used in Courier:

My third video feature shows the beginning of the game and how the story starts out:

In this second in the series, I show how maps are made in Courier:

In this first video, I highlight some of the magical abilities you gain in Courier:

  • I made a new video feature on some of the magical abilities in the game and a little bit of how it was done! Check it out!

I'll be keeping all of the upcoming videos all together in one place here: in this thread in addition to posting them as they release in here.

  • Try Construct 3

  • Awesome stuff, and congrats on the RPS article too! The game looks fantastic, let's hope you can knock this one out of the park!

  • Can you put them in a container together?

  • They are definitely possible in C2--it's actually a pretty fun engine to make stuff like that in. It's only fun, though, once you're able to conceptualize and execute a lot of complex, interlocking systems. My game (in my sig) is a lot more like a Zelda game than Shining Force, but you should get the gist of it. There's also a lot of content creation involved, which can be daunting at times. As far as lack of tutorials, it might be the complexity of the task or relative inexperience with other genres. I'm not sure. I plan on posting a bunch of them whether finish my game, but finishing the game is my priority until then.

  • Hah that comment section is always a hellhole. They had people calling MGS5 ugly and derivative. Just remember there are always plenty who are quite happy with what they see but don't feel the need to leave comments.

  • Hah I was just coming here to post I saw Klang on IGN! Awesome stuff!

  • It would work, but it will only affect currently-playing sounds. You would also need to prevent future sounds with an event (or, better yet, always say the volume as a percentage of a variable).

  • Actually, about Greenlight, I don't know how much I would worry about vote ratios or anything. In full transparency, my game's final ratio was 33% Yes votes. I wasn't anywhere near breaking any top lists, but a Valve curator liked my game and pushed it through. On the flip side of things, I have more followers on Steam for my game than the average top 50 on the list, so there's that.

  • I circled it in your screenshot...

surely that does something. And I meant to run a regular preview with the text object showing you the actual numbers--don't run it in debug or of course you'll get the same numbers! There is nothing going wrong in your project. Either click on the Watch button I circled when you're viewing it in debug, or just preview it with the regular preview (F5 shortcut) and use your text object to show you your performance numbers.
