  • : There seems to be a bug with the cake in the second level, it didn't bring me to the next level, and when I try and continue using level select, the level is now locked and anything I click on brings me to the first level.

Also since the theme is from Kirby, you may also want to change that given competition rules: "All game assets (art assets, sound effects, music, etc...) must either be created by the entrant, or used with permission (e.g. Scirra Spite Packs)."

note: The first jump in the second level may be just a tad too far, you have to be dead accurate to make it :P

Since there is still some time before the deadline you can make some changes :)

  • Still looking forward to playing it when you have it completed :)

It is still impressive how much you and your team have accomplished in such a short period of time.

  • Definately not a platformer for newbies :P

  • Try Construct 3

  • I havn't actually worked with chiptunes directly, so didn't know just how well they compressed.

Something dynamically generated sounds interesting, though not sure it is something I would use (given my lack of musical talents :P)...although music that changed depending on what was happening in game would be pretty neat.

Note: Don't you and Tom ever sleep :P

  • Since sound files often end up being the largest part of HTML5 games, I decided to look around for some sort of chiptune plugin. I may need someone more musically and programming inclined to verify...but could this be a solution?: http://code.google.com/p/tss/

  • Only another week left to the Fun Chowder Competition!! Excited to see all the entries you've all been working on. Feel free to post more updates until then :) And register your entries over at the primary thread: Fun Chowder Game Competition: Reclamation

  • Either dropbox or the arcade is fine, just as long as we can play it :)

    edit: From contest rules:

To submit a game, simply reply to this post with:

    a) The name of the game

    b) The competition it is entering (Primary or Secondary)

    c) A URL to play the game (read how to upload your game to dropbox for free!)

    d) Your country of residence

  • Exam season can definately be rough..was hoping most people in school/university would of been done exams by the end of this week, giving them at least a few days of free time before the deadline.

Hope you do well on them, definately don't skip studying time for the competition :P

  • Always love seeing updates! :)

edit: added it to the hompage slideshow at funchowder

  • Right on Tom! Spread the love :)

  • It is pay what you want, so you can pay as little as 1 cent if you like, you just miss out on cave story and gratuitous space battles :). I was thinking about adding a bundle to the winner of the fan vote of the Fun Chowder Competition...that way they get something since I can't give out reputation points :)

Wink I think you're right, for free that is probably the best bet. And they have been around over 11 years, so that's always a plus.

  • Humble Bundle 4 is out, and this one is fantastic! Shank, Super Meatboy, Jamestown and more...even Cave Story+ and gratuitous space battles if you pay more than the average (which at the time of this posting is only US $5.26 for all these fantastic games!).

Really worth checking out: Humble Bundle 4

  • Not exactly construct 2 related, but the game Emberwind HTML5 is a benchmark example of what is currently possible with HTML5 games and should be checked out.

Did a little overview/review of it on funchowder, there is a link to the game near the bottom of the article. Emberwind HTML5 Review

edit: I highly reccomend playing the game with webgl turned on...ran great in Chrome

  • Encountered a bug, when moving really fast, santa passes through vertical pieces of wood without effecting them...At least in firefox, so it may be a firefox issue :P

edit: nope same thing happens in chrome...and You can also go throug hboxes without effecting them...perhaps put an upper limit on the power?
