• Hi thebody,

Cool birthday present, I'm sure your girls will love it :)

It's probably best to use a variable for triggering sound fx. Just set up your sound trigger event, so that it only fires when your variable = 5. Then add 1 to the variable on every coin pick up. Don't forget to set the variable back to zero once the sound has been triggered, then it should start over again.

Good luck, and I hope your daughters have a wonderful birthday!

Edit: just saw your second post :( I was using Chrome and it all seemed fine there!

  • Hi carlosgomes,

Not completely sure I understand your problem, but I'll try to help anyway!

If you're on a layout and wish to go back to a previous layout, your solution should work fine! If you are on your start page, then you'll need to change 'Go to layout' to 'Quit'.

One more thing to look out for, is using back button to close any pop-up windows (not sure if this applies to you). We failed Win Phone cert on our first try, as I'd forgotten to allow back button to close a pop-up window in our game (Doh!)

    Hope that helps!

If this was not the answer you're looking for (whoa! star wars flashback) please let me know, and I'll try to help you further.

Could also be useful to post a capx, if you are finding it difficult to express your problem!

    :)

  • Hey prepmean,

You should be able to just start the sound/music on start of layout, and set it to looping.

Unless you call stop, it should just keep going!

    :)

  • sai sronitha,

Have to agree with yonda, your link is not working! I just get an error message saying "Invalid Link".

Try uploading it again, to see if this solves the problem :)

  • sergyperov,

Just downloaded your game and it works well for me. I really liked the spooky voice in the background. Although I couldn't understand a word he was saying ;)

I also noticed the ludei logo flickering, but then it went into the game no problem. I'm using an HTC Desire, with Android 4.1.

There are so many different phones on Android, and they all have different specs. So it's quite a challenge to get your game working well on all of them! Especially as the latest version of CocoonJS is still a little bit buggy!

    Good luck with the game!

  • Nice find AlbertHall, thanks for sharing :)

  • Hey Scythuz,

Great collection, and very kind to offer it for free!

Keep up the good work, I'm sure loads of people will be taking up your offer :)

  • Hey tulamide,

Another set of 12 loops, when do you ever find the time to sleep?

As always, a great selection of music, so I'll just start at the top and work my way down!

thief_2b & thief_4b, I love the classic feel of these pieces (big orchestra sound). Both pieces would be very good for the introduction/theme of a powerful character, in a variety of games. Although I must say they made me think of sword fighting/fantasy styled RPG's.

trenchcoat_4b, whilst this shares some of the features of the thief tracks (e.g. strong definitive sound), trenchcoat has a much more retro seventies feel to it, and I really like the video game sounds woven into it!

preparations_(full)_8b & preparations_(piano)_8b, searching, passionate, driven, despair, these are all words that come to mind when listening to preparations. I can imagine a character driven to wander the dirty city streets, on a search to save the ones they love. I think the piano version will be making it onto my favourites list

loot_2b, a very cool and funky sound. It conjures up images of a fresh young dude, strutting down the road on his way to catch the bad guys.

realisation_4b & realisation_16b, both tracks have a very dark and gritty sound. Great tension builders, and they remind me of a futuristic sound from a seventies film, very cool!

homewrecker_8b, despite it's title, this track had a very hopeful sound. It made me think of someone who has hit rock bottom, and is just starting to make the climb back up to the top.

heist_4b, I can see why you like this track, it has a very upbeat, positive and funky sound to it, great for a lead character!

endcredits_8b, another hopeful sounding piece, makes me believe that everything all works out in the end!

getaway_4b, fantastic tension builder, has a similar feel to the thief tracks but a different, much BIGGER sound!

Anyway, I hope that my comments have been useful. Good luck in the competition, I'm sure you'll do well. Keep us posted

Oh and by the way, you failed in your attempt to create something bad, you MUST try harder

I don't really understand what you are asking, from your message. But perhaps if you post a capx of your project, it'll be easier to help.

    :)

  • Damn! 27th is the one day of that weekend we can't make :( Perhaps we'll be able to make it to the next event.

Oh well, hope you all have a great time, and the evening is a productive one.

Please have a beer on us - note: beer money will not be provided by us ;)

  • Nice work! Looking very smooth ;)

  • tulamide,

As always, it's my pleasure :)

Since joining the C2 community, many people have taken the time to help me out!

I'm not always able to help others with some of the more complex development questions, so I'm happy to help out where ever I can.

And your music is always very good, so it never really seems like work anyway!

I look forward to the next instalment :)

  • iikii,

Set your window size to the size you want to display at. Then turn scaling off, and it will display in a window of the correct size.

    Hope that helps.

  • tulamide,

Another fantastic collection of loops, you can certainly hear a greater level of sadness and sorrow in this collection (by the way, 'sadness and sorrow', one of my all-time favourite tracks!).

tears_4b - a really moving piece, you can hear the sadness and despair your character is experiencing.

fernweh_4b - very cool, slow and relaxed platform style sound. oyster_8b - is another very relaxed sounding loop, which would be great as a theme for the main character in a platformer.

stealth_(light)_4b, and stealth_(full)_8b - both have a very smooth secret agent feel to them. I can almost see a figure in black, sneaking around buildings and taking out the bad guys.

sailing_8b - another fun platformer sound that would work really well in a retro styled, pixel art project.

machine_8b - great futuristic sound, which makes me imagine a blade runner type world (very cool!).

chimera_(var1)_8b, another great sound, which conjures up images of samurai masters who wander the countryside, righting the wrongs of an evil overlord (everyone, please feel free to use this idea if you like)

imminence_16b & imminence_(ambience)_16b - are both fantastic tension builders. They really make you feel as if something is just around the corner, waiting to get you (ahhhhhh....). They'd be great for a horror or thriller styled game.

roulette_2b & ghosts_8b, both have a much more fun and upbeat sound, and both would be great for fun, comic, cartoon styled characters

Please could you try harder to create something I don't like, that way I'll finally have something to complain about

  • Ashley, sounds good!

We've already booked our tickets for Eurogamer (29th). So would be great if that date works for others too! But if not, we can always make an extra trip :)
